💛🐾 $2 Tuesday – Desi’s First Adventure in Her Forever Home! 🐾💛

Our sweet Destiny (“Desi”) is absolutely thriving in her new forever foster home with mom Susan! 💖 This past weekend, they went on their very first camping trip together — hiking through the trails, sitting by the fire, and enjoying endless snuggles. 🐾🌿 By the time they got back home, Desi was completely wiped out… and slept so contentedly, a true sign of how happy she is! 😴💛

Desi is still bravely battling lymphoma, and her surgery is scheduled for October 10th. Her medical care to date has exceeded $20,000, and we still need to raise $1,500 to give her this next important treatment. Every $2 (or more!) helps make a difference. 💌

Meet Diamond and Buck — two of three siblings found wandering the side of a lonely Alabama road, in an area sadly known for being a dumping ground. 💔 Had it not been for their incredible foster who happened to drive by and stop… we don’t even want to imagine what could’ve happened. 😢

Thanks to her love and dedication, these two gorgeous Redtick Coonhounds are now healthy, fully vetted, and ready to find their forever families.

💔 Poor Bean is Still in Boarding 💔

For the past two weeks, sweet Bean has been sitting in a boarding facility day and night, confused and heartbroken. Why? Because his former owners didn’t listen to our advice—or the advice of his trainer—and sadly, he was set up for failure. Now this good boy is paying the price.

🐶 Meet Bean:
✨ 3-year-old Lab mix
✨ 50 lbs of energy and love
✨ Housebroken & crate trained
✨ Knows some commands
✨ Has lived with cats and another dog (but needs a doggy sibling who can keep up with his play!)
✨ Due to his high energy, we recommend no young children

Bean wants so badly to be loved. He is energetic, playful, and full of potential—but he also needs continued training, which we’ve already lined up with his original trainer to help his new family succeed. He’s a truly lovable boy who just needs a chance.

Right now, Bean is stuck in boarding, wondering what happened. He deserves better. Let’s get him out of a kennel and into a real home where he belongs. 🏡❤️

Wyatt’s body carries the scars of his past—cuts, wounds, even part of his ear missing, from being used as a bait dog. 💔 Through it all, his body has begun to heal, and his heart still chooses love. Our sweet Peanut has only been home a couple of weeks, and he’s already making his adopter Anna so proud! Today, they participated in the Gabby Petito Run/Walk benefit—such a special way to spend the day together.

🌟 Ozzie’s Journey: Fighting With Love and Strength 🌟

Ozzie had his follow-up with the specialists last week. This poor boy is truly a challenging case, and we could not be more grateful that he is being fostered by our incredible veterinarian, who has been by his side through every twist and turn. ❤️

He now has a new diagnosis of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), which means his pancreas cannot produce the enzymes needed to break down food. This comes in addition to his Protein Losing Enteropathy (PLE) and Lymphangiectasia. On top of that, he is battling multiple infections because of the weakened immune system caused by the immunosuppressive drug he needs to manage his PLE.

To help him, his Internal Medicine Specialist has started him on a very pure form of pancreatic enzymes that cost $300 a month.

💡 The good news: Ozzie is showing improvement. His pulmonary abscess is getting smaller each week, and some of his bloodwork is slowly moving in the right direction. With the enzymes—and once his infections are under control—we’ll finally be able to add in additional medications to better manage his condition.

Ozzie’s journey has been long, difficult, and costly—but for the first time in his life, he knows unconditional love. He is safe, cared for, and cherished. We will never give up on him.

🙏 His medical bills continue to grow, and at this time our intake remains closed until we can catch up on the overwhelming expenses for dogs like Ozzie. 💔 In a crowded shelter full of barking and chaos, sweet Domino waits quietly—unnoticed.

🐾 Domino – 61 lbs of Gentle Joy 🐾

This sweet boy has been overlooked time and time again, and it’s breaking our hearts. Domino has had zero inquiries, yet his life is at risk simply because the shelter is overcrowded.

Domino is everything you’d want in a companion—super sweet, playful, and easygoing. He loves gentle pets, leisurely strolls, and walks beautifully on leash. Always wagging his tail, he greets everyone with kindness and warmth.

He’s dog-friendly and even lived with another dog previously, making him a wonderful match for families with a resident pup.

✨ Domino deserves more than a shelter kennel. He deserves a home. Please don’t let him be another overlooked life lost to space.

💔🐾 Titu Has Been Through Enough — He Needs Forever 🐾💔

Many of you have followed Titu’s journey. If ever a dog has been through hell and back, it’s this boy.

Just last week, we thought his happy ending was here. He had an approved adopter, and everything was set for him to finally go home. But when it came time to finalize, the adopter refused to sign our contract — something every responsible rescue requires to ensure the safety and future of our animals. And just like that, Titu’s forever vanished again. 💔

Thanks to our amazing volunteer/ previous adopter, Michelle, Titu made the trip and even enjoyed a sleepover. But when it all fell apart, he was back with his foster dad, who has been nothing short of incredible. Still, foster is only temporary. Boarding is not an option — after years of living outside before rescue, Titu simply would not survive that.

The good news? Titu just had a full exam and bloodwork, and he received a clean bill of health. His vet care cost $718, and any donations toward helping cover this bill would mean the world to him. He’s ready for his forever — ready to finally belong.

💔🌈 In Loving Memory of Teddy 🌈💔

In rescue, we experience both the joy of second chances and the sorrow of loss—and today our hearts go out to Paulette as we remember sweet Teddy, who has crossed the rainbow bridge.

Teddy and his sister Precious came to RTHRS after their owner became terminally ill. They had been left at a vet’s office for nearly a year before finding their way to us—and then into the arms of Paulette, a dear friend and truly amazing pet parent. What was meant to be a foster home quickly became forever. Teddy and Precious spent their golden years safe, loved, and cherished every single day.

Teddy thrived in Paulette’s care. He loved his daily walks, cozy snuggles, and the simple joys of home. Her sweetest little nugget always brought a smile with his adorable little teeth, the way he hopped around with joy, and the little tongue that peeked out when he slept—he was truly impossible not to love.

I had the pleasure of visiting both Teddy and Precious, and it was so joyful to see the life they were living in a home filled with such warmth. Paulette’s updates, with the cutest photos and the sweetest words about Teddy and Precious, perfectly captured just how cherished they both were. Their days were also brightened by the gentle companionship of their beloved cat siblings, who shared in the love and joy of their home. 💕

Paulette, we are endlessly grateful for the love you gave Teddy and Precious. It takes a truly special heart to open your home to seniors, knowing that their time may be shorter, but the love you share is immeasurable.

Run free, sweet Teddy. Reunited with your best friend Precious, may you both watch over Paulette with all the love you carried in your hearts. You were adored beyond words and will never be forgotten. ❤️🐾
