Today we wish a very happy 3rd birthday to Яблучко! Yabluchko, aka my little Apple, is from a town called Stepnohirs'k Степногірськ in Ukraine. And she is the only member of my pack that allows me to dress her up for all sorts of ridiculous occasions. And while she tolerates me making her wear ridiculous hats, she will not tolerate her brother attempting to steal the Limelight. 🤣

Today is Ukrainian Vyshyvanka Day! And our lovely Slagathor is showing off her necktie!
Vyshyvanka is a unique Ukrainian embroidery pattern, usually hand made and sewn. Each region has their own special flare and subtleties to make their Vyshyvanka unique!
Slagathor was rescued from a campaign at the front lines in May 2024. And she recently celebrated her second birthday in New York surrounded by many of her Ukrainian (dog and cat) brethren!
Celebrate culture.

this week highlights CUPCAKE! She was also from Lyman, like Toni, whom we highlighted last week.
Her beautiful eyes caught out attention immediately. As we got to know her, her very playful personality came out as well.
She's now living downstate NY with a lovely family and another kitten friend. Living her best life by hiding all of the hair ties from mom under the couch.

The next team member for introduction is Yuliia!
I have only candid pictures of her because she never stops working.
I'm always thoroughly impressed by the person who run prep. They have to prepare 80-100 patients EACH DAY for surgery... AND in the "down time" she hops over and does a few surgeries with us to help lighten the load.
It's always tough to decide who works the hardest each day... but in my eyes, it is usually prep.

A little update from one of my favorite patients during the last campaign. This momma had 2 little babies. We wanted to give the babies a little box to hide in while mom was getting her procedure done.... mom had better plans.
The truest example of "If I fits, I sits"... mom got herself and the 2 babies into her baby box.

Today is International Family Day and we LOVE our international family!
We would be nothing without these wonderful and hard-working people. And while a few of our team members have come and gone each each one of them has been a vital and important part and helping us with this great work.
