High Nitrates and Phosphates a super common occurrence and you can eliminate them at the source as opposed to dosing chemicals.

Here at Nocturnal Reef, we use macro algae in our refugiums as one of our 2 biological filters.

Chaeto works as a live, natural filter to remove excess nitrates and phosphates from the tank water. It also works to accommodate Copepods and Amphipods, which is a main source of food for the beautiful Mandarin Fish and Pipefish everyone loves! Ensuring the cleanliness of the water, it helps to maintain the water quality in the reef tank.

Not sure where to start?

Though many use Chaeto for the refugium only, you can place them either in a refugium or in the main display tank. They grow very fast in favorable conditions and are hardy in nature. As you can put them anywhere in the system and they multiply pretty fast, you do not need to worry about spending hours taking care of them.

To ensure that they grow faster, you need to just make sure that you have kept them under a grow light along with the moderate flow of water.

We're now offering Live Copepods!

We are really excited to now provide a natural, beneficial supplement to your reef ecosystem.

Add a bottle to your refugium or use as live feed for your tank mates. It helps boost your Coral and Fish coloration, high in protein and fatty acids and are an excellent natural food source. They will breed and multiply when in proper conditions with a refugium and chaeto.

These Tigriopus Californicus copepods are cultured in a trusted clean system.
