To say we will miss this gal at River Ridge Stable is an understatement. Olivia Zubrod was an absolute godsend this summer. She was my right hand man. I could not have made it through these past weeks without her. We are so blessed to have found her. Her willingness to learn, her love and passion for horses, and her work ethic are second to none. We hope big things are coming when she graduates ISU this winter. Good luck in the last few months of school Olivia, and we will see you soon!!

When we are evaluating your horses cadence in the tread, this is what we are looking for.

* Is the horse relaxed and not rushing?

* Are they staying centered?

* Are they tracking straight?

* Any compensation patterns that repeat?

* Do the back legs follow the front?

* Is the back swinging freely and are they using their core?

* Are they engaging their hindquarters?

All these things matter to each session. We will help your horse get there. 💪🏽🌊❤️

Handling the horse is much more than loading them and getting them to walk fast.
We are constantly evaluating each horse during their sessions to ensure they are getting the most out of their time on the tread. Many horses come here "seasoned" on the tread, but have to be retaught how to use it correctly! Here are some of the things we do to reprogram our equine friends to adjust to a more correct workout. 💕🌊

STRAIGHTNESS!!!
If there is one single aspect of using the treadmill that is the most important, it's training the horses to stay straight.
If a horse tends to want to keep their head and neck to one side you are building muscle differently on one side verses the other. Notice this guy wants to keep his head and neck to the left side of the door? That will turn into muscle memory and cause a chain reaction throughout the body we do not want.
We take the time, everytime, to correct these patterns and allow the horse to adjust themselves and build a consistent way of moving until it becomes second nature. 🌊💪🏽
