15th Street Veterinary Group

15th Street Veterinary Group We are a veterinary clinic in Tulsa OK and we are accepting new clients. Give us a call or come on by to meet the team! ๐Ÿฉบโœจ

Our doors first opened in 1965 as Hohmann Veterinary Hospital, under the ownership of Dr. Donald Hohmann. In 1980, Dr. Ed Wagner joined the practice as an associate but later became a co-owner. A third veterinarian was added to the group in 1987 when Dr. Mark Shackelford joined the practice. We officially became 15th Street Veterinary Group in 1990 when Dr. Wagner and Dr. Shackelford became co-own

ers of the clinic. Dr. Hohmann remained on and continued to practice until his death in 1995. Dr. Erin Green joined us in 1999 and became a co-owner in 2015 when Dr. Wagner sold his half of the partnership to her and retired. Dr. Kara Herrington joined us in 2014 and Dr. Kris Haak in 2021.

๐ŸŽ† Keep Your Pets Safe This Fourth of July! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿพ

The Fourth of July is a fun time for families, but it can also be one of the most stressfulโ€”and dangerousโ€”holidays for our furry friends. Here are a few simple ways to help keep your pets safe:

๐Ÿถ Make sure your pet is microchipped and wearing ID.
Fireworks can startle even the calmest pets, causing them to run away in fear. A microchip greatly increases the chances of a happy reunion if they become lost.

๐ŸŽ‡ Watch for signs of anxiety.
While not every pet is bothered by fireworks, many become frightened by the loud noises. If your pet has a history of anxiety during storms or fireworks, give us a call before the celebrations begin. We can discuss safe options to help keep them calm and comfortable.

๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿฆด Keep dangerous foods out of reach.
Corn cobs, watermelon rinds, and bones can all cause serious digestive problems if swallowed. In some cases, they can lead to intestinal blockages that require emergency surgery. Help keep your pets safe by making sure these items stay well out of reach.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Practice firework safety.
Never light fireworks near your pets or allow them to investigate used fireworks. Sparklers, firecrackers, and spent fireworks can all cause burns, injuries, or toxic exposure.

๐Ÿก Keep pets safely indoors.
Close windows and doors, create a quiet, comfortable space, and consider turning on the TV, a fan, or calming music to help mask the sound of fireworks.

A little preparation goes a long way in making sure everyoneโ€”two-legged and four-leggedโ€”has a safe and happy Independence Day! โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

If you have questions about keeping your pet comfortable during the holiday, weโ€™re here to help. Give us a call before the fireworks begin!

Celebrating Kate!

Kate may be our newest addition, but she has already made such a wonderful impression on our clinic family! She has been with us for almost 2 months, and we are incredibly excited about the future with her on our team.

Learning the front desk at a veterinary clinic is no easy task โ€” there is so much to balance every day โ€” but Kate has jumped in with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a great attitude. She has been eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and so kind to both our clients and coworkers.

We are already so impressed with how quickly she has adapted and how naturally she connects with the people and pets who come through our doors. We are truly grateful to have her here and wanted to make sure she feels recognized and celebrated during Receptionist Week.

Thank you, Kate, for all of your hard work already โ€” we are so happy you joined our work family! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ•๐Ÿˆ

Celebrating Val!

This week, we are celebrating Val and all that she does for our clinic! Val has been with us for 3 years, and we are so thankful to have her as part of our front desk team. She does a wonderful job communicating with clients, helping keep things organized, and making sure people feel heard, cared for, and taken care of when they visit or call our clinic.

In addition to caring for our clients at the front desk, Val also handles many important behind-the-scenes office tasks that help keep the clinic running smoothly each day. Her attention to detail and dedication to her work play an important role in our daily operations.

Over the past 3 years, Val has become an important part of our work family, and we truly appreciate the support she provides to both our clients and our team. We are grateful to have her as part of our clinic and lucky to call her ours.

Thank you, Val, for everything you do โ€” we hope you feel celebrated and appreciated this week! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

Celebrating Jackie!

Jackie has officially been with us for 1 year, and what an incredible year it has been! From the very beginning, she jumped in eager to learn and help wherever needed. Over time, she has become such an important part of our team because of her flexibility, positive attitude, and willingness to step into any role that helps the clinic function smoothly.

Recently, many of you may have noticed Jackie spending more time in the back assisting our medical team. Thanks to her previous veterinary assistant experience, she has been helping us tremendously behind the scenes when staffing needs arise. Whether we need her upfront at reception or assisting in treatment areas, she transitions seamlessly and always steps up when someone is absent or sick.

Her adaptability, teamwork, and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly lucky to have someone so dependable and caring on our team. Thank you, Jackie, for always being willing to wear multiple hats and help wherever needed. We appreciate you more than you know! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

Celebrating David!

David has been part of our clinic family for an incredible 19 years, and his dedication and experience are such a valuable part of who we are. Many of our clients know David as a Registered Veterinary Technician, and his medical knowledge and skillset have helped countless pets over the years.

Lately, David has been spending more time upfront helping our reception team, and he has truly been shining in this role. He brings patience, efficiency, and compassion to every client interaction. Having someone with his experience at the front desk has been such an asset to both our team and our clients.

We know stepping into a different role is not always easy, and we deeply appreciate David being willing to wear this hat for us and support the clinic wherever needed. His versatility, commitment, and team-first attitude are just a few of the many reasons we are so thankful for him after all these years.

Thank you, David, for 19 amazing years of dedication and reliability, and for continuing to help our clinic grow and succeed in so many ways! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ
