What a day for Tulsa's animals. 🐾❤️

Today, we gathered at our nearly completed new shelter to celebrate some incredible community support:

🐾 Tulsa Community Foundation announced a $1 million commitment to establish the Tulsa Animal Forever Fund, plus a challenge to the community to match it through Be a Hero, Tulsa! The permanent endowment will support animal care and evolving shelter needs for generations.

🐾 The Sanford & Irene Burnstein Family Foundation announced a $250,000 donation to Fix It, Tulsa! to support spay and neuter clinics and help prevent unplanned litters. We'll share clinic details once plans are finalized.

These gifts build on Tulsa voters' $13 million investment in the new shelter. For our team, that means more support for the animals we care for every day and more opportunities to help pets before they ever need us.

Thank you to the foundations, City leaders, Animal Services working group, and everyone who joined us today. We have a lot to look forward to, Tulsa!

Big news for Tulsa’s pets! 🐾

The Sanford & Irene Burnstein Family Foundation is donating $250,000 to support spay and neuter clinics through Fix It, Tulsa!

This generous gift will help more families access these services, prevent unplanned litters, and reduce the number of animals entering our shelter.

Thank you to the Burnstein Family Foundation! Clinic details are still being developed. We’ll share more once plans are finalized.

One ear up, and one ear down, and a grin you can't scroll past. 💛

This , meet Una! At 8 years old, and 32 pounds, this senior girl is enjoying life in foster while she waits for a home of her own.

Una is spayed, house trained, kennel trained, and cat friendly. She can get a little possessive of her people around other dogs, so she'd do best as the only pup in the home.

🐾 Her adoption fee is waived!

Interested in meeting her? Contact Tulsa Animal Services and ask about Una (A184473)

🐾𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘: 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐈𝐋!🩺❤️

At just 11 weeks old, Oil has already been through more than most kittens. But you wouldn't know it from the way he loves to cuddle!❤️

Oil (A185733) arrived at Tulsa Animal Services earlier this month as an emergency medical stray with a severe eye injury. After evaluating his condition, our veterinary team determined that surgery to remove his injured eye was necessary.

Thankfully, Oil is recovering well, and losing an eye hasn't slowed down this little guy's affection for people!

He's as sweet as they come. Pick him up, and he'll happily curl into your arms for all the snuggles he can get. 😺

Oil isn't quite ready for adoption while he finishes healing, but we're hopeful he'll be cleared soon. Once our veterinary team gives him the all-clear, we'll share an update so he can find the loving home he deserves.

❤️ 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭? Adoption fees for all pets at Tulsa Animal Services are waived through the end of 2026 as we prepare for our move to the new shelter!

Weekly Report Card | October 19-25, 2026
Our shelter is still over capacity, and we need your help finding homes for the animals in our care!

This week, 151 animals entered Tulsa Animal Services, including 91 strays and 51 owner surrenders. Thanks to adopters, foster families, and rescue partners, we're continuing to find positive outcomes for animals in need.

Here's a look at this week's numbers:
🐾 151 animals entered the shelter
🏡 100 animals were adopted
❤️ 51 animals are currently in foster care
📈 82% weekly save rate

Our shelter remains above capacity:
🐶 211 dogs in the shelter — 120% of capacity
😺 79 cats in the shelter — 83% of capacity

🏠 HELP US MAKE ROOM FOR OUR BIG MOVE!

As we prepare to move to our new shelter facility, we're working to reduce overcrowding and find loving homes for as many animals as possible before the transition.

🎉 ALL ADOPTION FEES ARE WAIVED THROUGH THE END OF 2026!

Adoptable pets come vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with a one-year City of Tulsa pet license — all at no adoption cost!

Every adoption helps us create space for another animal in need. If adoption isn't an option, consider fostering, volunteering, or sharing our available pets with friends and family.

A new shelter is an exciting next chapter for Tulsa Animal Services, but our animals need loving homes far more than they need a new building.

🐾 Help us make their next move a move home!
