🎉THANK YOU, TULSA!🎉

We set a goal of 500 adoptions during Clear the Shelters - and you didn't just meet it.

You blew right past it. 💥

During August, 647 animals left Tulsa Animal Services for positive outcomes:
🐾 509 adopted
🏠 63 reunited with their families
🤝 75 transferred to rescue partners

That's 647 animals who are somewhere different today because this community showed up - by adopting, fostering, sharing posts, supporting TAS and helping us spread the word.

And now... there's just one little piece of unfinished business. 👀

Shelter Director Sherri Carrier said that if we reached our Clear the Shelters goal, she would dye her hair.

Well, Sherri...

We reached it. And then some. 😆🎨

Stay tuned. We think Tulsa has earned the right to see how this turns out.

**Weekly Report Card - Aug. 24-30**

Some really positive news worth celebrating from last week as we had more animals go out than came in!

- Weekly Live Release Rate: 97%!

A BIG thank you to everyone who came out this month during Clear the Shelters and who showed up to Saturday's Big Bark Bash!

A 97% live release rate means the vast majority of animals that came through our doors left alive through adoption, were returned to their owners, or were transferred to a partner rescue.

Other big wins from the week include:
- 105 adoptions
- 16 transfers to rescue partners
- 13 pets reunited with their families

While last week was great, our shelter continues to remain at or over capacity and we still need your help to Fix It (Tulsa's pet overpopulation problem) for good.

𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗬 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥

Sunny (A184575) is a beautiful 1.5 year old calico who needs something the shelter simply can't give her right now: a calm, 𝗰𝗮𝘁-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

Sunny experiences seizures when she becomes highly stressed. Unfortunately, other cats are a major trigger for her—even seeing another cat at the shelter can send her into a seizure episode.

That means the shelter is an especially difficult environment for Sunny, and we urgently need to find her a foster or adopter who has 𝗡𝗢 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗦 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

Sunny isn't asking for much. She just needs a quiet place where she can decompress, feel safe, and get away from the constant stress of a busy shelter.

Midnight and Lady may look like big, strong pups—but apparently nobody told them they're not pocket-sized.

Midnight is athletic, playful, and fully convinced your lap is exactly where he belongs. He's been waiting a while for someone to notice that underneath all that puppy energy is one very affectionate cuddle bug.

Lady can look a little tough behind her kennel door, but don't judge her by that first impression. Get her outside and she transforms into a wiggly, happy, kiss-giving machine who would also very much like to climb into your lap.

Both are long-stay dogs. Both have been overlooked. And both are ready to prove that sometimes the biggest dogs make the best lap dogs. ❤️

Ernie started out shy, but he has come such a long way. Now he greets people at the door with a wagging tail and even breaks into happy little zoomies when he's feeling comfortable.

Billie is steady, polite, and incredibly gentle. She's dealing with an eye injury, but you'd hardly know it from the way she takes everything in stride.

Both are long-stay dogs. Both are sweet, low-drama companions. And both would love a home where they can settle in and just be loved.

Vince and Peaches are the kind of dogs who are ready to turn your backyard into the best place on earth.

Vince is a goofy Lab mix who lives for pool time. Give him some water, room to play and a person to hand out with, and he's having the best day ever.

Peaches is gorgeous, athletic, and VERY serious about her ball. She loves to play, loves to run, and has some truly spectacular zoomies.

Both are long-stay dogs who have been waiting for someone looking for a fun, active companion.

We were going to introduce you to Honey for … but this girl deserved the Saturday spotlight. 🍯✨

Meet Honey— 3 years old, 50 pounds and basically the kind of dog people come to the shelter hoping to find.

She's house trained. Kennel trained. Dog friendly. Great on a leash. Great in the car. Exceptionally well-mannered.

In other words: Honey has already done her homework. She's just waiting for someone to take her home. 🐝💛

And today is the perfect day to meet her.

Honey will be waiting at our Big Bark Bash from Noon-6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, and adoption fees are WAIVED as we wrap up Clear the Shelters month.

Come meet Honey—and plenty of other very good dogs ready to make their way out of the shelter and into a home.

Right now, Tulsa Animal Services' foster program has 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 - and we're continually running low on the leashes and collars our foster animals need.

And these supplies matter for more than just stocking a shelf.

Every bag of food, leash, and collar helps us support a foster family who has opened their home to a shelter animal. When we can send fosters home with the supplies they need, it makes it easier for more people to say 𝐘𝐄𝐒 — and every foster home means another animal gets a break from the facility and another kennel becomes available.
