✨ Meet Peaches — your future feline BFF with a flair for fun! ✨

Peaches is a 1-year-old bundle of love with a big personality. Playful and affectionate, she’s all about zoomies, snuggles, and chasing anything that moves. She's super social! Great with dogs, chatty, and obsessed with mirrors and music 🎵. Peaches has Manx Syndrome, but she’s fully mobile, happy, and just needs a few simple accommodations.

If you’re looking for a sweet, quirky companion, Peaches could be your perfect match. Peaches is in foster care, ask to make an appointment to meet her today by emailing [email protected].

Thanks for stopping by, Jersey and Claire Graham! ❤🐱🐶

Here are this week's adoptable pets going on Jersey's Journeys to find their forever homes! They're all up for adoption at The Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
- Dodge, Clancy and Pepper are just three of the many kittens the Humane Society currently has! It's kitten season, which means they'll be getting them in constantly over the next few months. These three are about 8 weeks old, but they're fixed and they've had their shots and they're ready to go home. They're as sweet and playful as can be!
- Shimmer is a 2-year-old grayish black Xoloitzcuintli mix. Normally the breed is hairless, but she has some fuzziness going on! She can be a little shy at times, but she tends to warm up quickly. She also would probably prefer to be the only dog in your home, but if you have a very tolerant dog, she might be interested in a sibling. She's treat motivated and gentle, and can't wait to be your friend!
- Cake is a 9-year-old brindle mix breed dog. He came all the way to Tucson from Tanzania! He was rescued there, but the amazing person who adopted him and brought him here was unable to care for him. He's as chill and friendly as can be, and will do great in any home. He's happy, friendly and gentle, and loves all the attention.

Big shoutout to Cal—our favorite linen guy with a serious side hustle in art!

He comes every week with fresh linens, but this time he showed up with something extra special: this amazing statue made entirely of found objects! Scrap metal never looked so good.

Thanks, Cal, for thinking of us and flexing those welding skills—we're beyond impressed!

Every adoption tells a story! 💕 Linda and Anthony share how Fiona (now Lola) has brought joy and love into their life:
"We received your letter inquiring about our dog we adopted on November 2, 2024. At that time her name was Fiona but we quickly changed her name to LOLA.
We’ve had Lola with us now for over 5 months and I can barely express what joy, love and companionship she has brought into our life. We’ve transformed our back yard to be a good place for her to play and boy, does she like to play!! She loves her toys and plays with them all the time. She loves to have us throw them for her so she can retrieve, then bring them back to one of us to be thrown again. She is VERY smart and aware of everything around her. She is the most demonstrative dog we’ve ever had, and we have had many dogs. My husband calls her a “love sponge” because she is SO loving and affectionate and always seeks us out for pets and cuddles. Lola has some funny idiosyncrasies. When I put her breakfast or lunch down in the area where she eats, she won’t go to it until she’s good and ready. Often waiting several minutes then usually won’t let us see her go to it. She’s a good and polite eater and doesn’t gobble her food. When given a treat she never grabs it, instead takes it gently from our hands. She will ONLY go p**p in one area of our backyard. She gets at least one walk per day and has NEVER gone p**p on a walk. (She receives a very healthy diet including pre and pro biotic supplements and Omega 3 supplement.) All of this being said, Lola does have her issues. Lola has EXTREME separation anxiety to the point that we took her to a vet and got trazodone for her. We don’t leave her alone very often but when we have to, the trazadone works and she is calm when we return. She has to stay outside when we are gone because she tore up things in the house before we realized what a serious issue her separation anxiety is. Hopefully she will grow out of it and eventually understand that when we leave her we will always come back. We’ve taken her to some training classes that were so-so. She has had “snake avoidance “ training which worked very well. Lola was not at all socialized with other dogs when we got her. She would get VERY aggressive with ALL dogs, lunging and growling (she is VERY strong) At this time, she has made excellent progress. She has gone on one play date and on a walk around the neighborhood with the same dog. Now when we walk her and she encounters other dogs, she usually ignores them or settles down when we tell her to “leave it”. She is definitely making progress in this area. Thank you so much for inquiring about our precious pup that we love tremendously! Best regards, Linda and Anthony Izuel and Lola"
