Today is National Hug Your Hound Day! Give your dog a big hug (as long as they enjoy it) and show them just how much you care about them! Maybe take them for an extra long walk or give them a favorite treat!

We helped 91 animals find new families in August! There wasn't enough space to fit them all, so pictured are just a few of the furry faces that found their forever homes.

The Liberty Animal Shelter's feature today is Reed! This handsome boy is the Shelter's longest resident with a stay of 53 days! Let's help him find his forever family!

Here's a bit about Reed:
- He has spent his life in a shelter environment and has been so patient waiting for his new forever home!
- He completed the Puppies for Parolees program so he has great manners!
- He plays well with his dog friends and his favorite past time is being chased around the play yard.
- He would make a great walking buddy!

Did you know that not cleaning up after your pet can be a public health concern? Pets can carry diseases and parasites that can potentially spread to other animals and people, and rain water carries pet waste and other pollutants directly into waterways. Be a good neighbor- pick up after your pet!

The Liberty Animal Shelter is requesting donations of Bleach, 9V and AAA batteries and spray cheese. We utilize these items daily for laundry, canine enrichment and for the microchip scanners to help reunite lost pets with their owners.
