🚨A Dog’s Health Should Come Before Rescue Politics🚨

I spoke with our good friends at Brindle Buddies & Friends. They took in a stray from ACCT Philly back in August, and they’re not “rescue partners” yet ACCT provided them with the dog’s veterinary records.
So yes 🤷🏻♀️, it’s hard not to feel that ACCT is treating us differently. If the records were shared with them, why won’t they share them with our veterinarian? At this point, it feels personal. 🤔

I’ve read the comments saying that speaking up is “political” or could hurt the dogs at ACCT Philly. That is not my intention. I believe we should be able to raise concerns and hold one another accountable in rescue while keeping the focus on the animals.
For the past 4 years, our rescue has tried to help Huskies at ACCT Philly, but we have not been permitted to pull dogs. I can’t speak to anyone else’s motives, but after everything that has happened with Lilly 🐺👑🐾, I’m deeply concerned about how this situation has been handled. Our veterinarians have 📞 reached out for her medical records and still have not received them.
I believe ACCT Philly made a serious mistake in this placement. "If" our rescue had been allowed to help, we would have worked to find Lilly 🐺👑🐾 a home that was right for her. I can’t know exactly how things would have unfolded, but I believe a more suitable placement could have helped prevent this situation.
I’ve spent the last three days 😡 trying to get answers and secure Lilly's 🐺👑🐾 care. Because her records still haven’t reached our vet, she may need another rabies vaccination. We have an appointment with our veterinarian on Monday, and we’ll do what is needed.
This is about Lilly's 🐺👑🐾 welfare, access to her records, and accountability. I’m not going to pretend this is okay, and I will continue to advocate for her.

I am beyond frustrated and angry about how this dog’s situation has been handled 😡 and especially about ACCT Philadelphia refusing to provide the veterinary records she needs.
Here is what I understand happened: The dog was adopted through ACCT Philadelphia. About two months later, her adopter was moving across the country and contacted ACCT about returning her. He told me ACCT said she would be euthanized if she came back. In a hurry to leave, he gave her to a neighbor but didn’t get the neighbor’s name or phone number. The neighbor later let the dog loose.
When I contacted the adopter, I asked what he wanted to do. He asked to surrender her to 3 Husketeers Rescue, and we took responsibility for her.
I called ACCT Philadelphia yesterday and today to request her veterinary records. I was told, “You’re not an approved rescue partner, therefore we can’t send you records.” 😡 (call 267-385-3800 press 6 then 1 and speak to Patrick)
This isn’t the first time ACCT has questioned our organization. Four years ago, when we applied to pull dogs, Sarah told us the application was denied because of “animal welfare concerns.” 😐
We have been a rescue for eight years. In all that time, I have never received a negative remark on a kennel inspection, not once. We are also a licensed stray-hold facility for Chester County. ACCT Philadelphia’s own page links to a list of approved stray-hold facilities, and 3 Husketeers Rescue is on that list. So being told that we aren’t an “approved rescue partner” while we are listed as an approved stray-hold facility is extremely hard to accept.

Most of all, how does withholding this dog’s medical history help her? Without her rabies certificate, tag, or veterinary records, we can’t confirm what care she has received. Our veterinarian will have to advise us on the safest next steps, and we may have to repeat vaccinations because ACCT won’t provide the records.
I can handle people saying negative things about me. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t care. But when decisions affect the dogs in my care, 😡 I take that seriously. This dog deserves safe, informed care, and the rescue responsible for her should have the information needed to provide it.
I am asking ACCT Philadelphia to send her veterinary records to 3 Husketeers Rescue and explain why they are refusing to do so. I am also prepared to pursue every appropriate avenue available to make sure this does not happen to another rescue or another dog.
