Went to Twin Valley High School with Kathleen from Spirited Breeze Care Farm where she spoke of carreer choices as a social worker and the work she does. Max came with since she uses the animals in her work- so we naturally spoke about the Silas and their dual role as both guardians and therapists! He did great visiting with each student! One of them had been working out at the gym when the puppies came for puppy yoga and he couldn’t believe how big these pups had become. He was thrilled to know Max had been one of them!

ATPS in Italy have been working steadfastly to get the Sila Shepherds recognized as an individual breed by the FCI. They have been searching for Silas throughout Calabria to get them evaluated and to add these important genetics to our breed. They show up at shows to get the dogs officially evaluated (in spite of rather wanting to stay home on the farm 🤪) And it seems like the recognition is coming soon for all their work- recognition that it’s just as important for us too here in the US as it is a first step to eventually become AKC recognized!

Should we spay or neuter? And at what age? For large dogs Ive always heard not prior to 2 years old. Now Im seeing this- so I will have to research this more.

When you get adorable sweet pictures of how your Sila pups behave in their new home!! Aka- not always misbehaving! 🤣🤣 Max is getting some “catisfaction”!! 🐈‍⬛

From PA to CO!! These dogs are the BEST little travelers! My heart is a bit heavy having said goodbye to 9 dogs- but their new families are amazing which helps!!

“Not sure why mom bothered bathing 🧽 us…. Daddy will just let us go playing in the swamp”

I needed a bathroom stop while traveling and I came out to Scott trying to locate them in the tall grasses😩

Luckily the pups have more sense than their dad and only got wet paws. 👏 And they came running to me as if I had been gone forever. And they stayed because I had a slice of pizza 🍕! Bribery works. Every time! lol 😂 breath

95 degrees and humid- ick. Dogs are panting but still active. While the adults chilled inside in the AC for a couple of hours I put up the puppy splash pad for the gang!! A little hesitant at first- but it quickly went to wrestling in the water!
