Who wore it best? Finnish or Dr. Snider? ๐
Happy Howl-oween from all of us at Five Mile Pet Clinic! ๐๐พ
Halloween is a night of chaos and fun, but for our pets, it's full of hidden hazards and stressors. Prioritize your furry friend's safety by locking down these three major risk areas:
๐ซ Poison & Choking Hazards:
Secure All Candy: The biggest threat is toxic treats. Keep every piece of candyโespecially all forms of chocolate and sugar-free items containing xylitolโlocked away.
Remove Small Objects: Discarded wrappers, small costume pieces, and decorative items (like fake plastic spiders, glow sticks, or batteries) are severe choking risks or can cause dangerous intestinal blockages.
๐ฅ Decorations & Entanglements:
Eliminate Fire Risk: Curious paws and wagging tails can easily knock over lit candles or jack-o'-lanterns, causing severe burns or a house fire. Opt for LED lights.
Keep Decor Out of Reach: Stringy decorations like fake cobwebs and electrical cords pose a major risk of entanglement, strangulation, or electrical shock if chewed.
๐ช Escape & Overload:
Create a Safe Sanctuary: The constant ringing of the doorbell and parade of costumed strangers can cause some furbabies anxiety. Crate or secure your pet in a quiet, interior room away from the front door during trick-or-treating hours.
Ensure Identification is Current: In the event your pet gets spooked and bolts out an open door, their ID tags must be on and their microchip information must be updated to ensure a fast, safe reunion.
Wishing you and your whole family a truly safe, stress-free, and fun Halloween! ๐๐ป
