This is Ryker, he has driven from Kennewick Washington to learn his best manners. Leash management is key to handling your pet. Remember, the leash is your telephone line, a direct line of communication from you to your dog. We must get this right to communicate timely and accurately of what we want!! lesson

Mix of some lessons this weekend. Foster is a returning client who had some time off due to traveling and needed a refresher. He nailed it, practicing his leash manners weaving around the public without losing the correct walking position. This is Franklins 3rd lesson, now that he knows what we want, now we have to practice his new skills in public!!

There is a lot of talking between these two ladies. They have been slower to warm up to each other, so it is important to expose them in smaller increments. During this interaction, Raven gave several “play bows” telling Bella “let’s play!”. There was also “chuffing”. Chuffing is a short breath or puffing sound made by blowing air through the mouth but no bark. Dogs often do this when they are excited and being playful. This isn’t always the case but it can be, this is why it is important to read all the body language not just one thing so you interpret it accurately.

Ok let’s talk about dog interaction, introductions, and reading dog body language!! So much to dissect here, but tell me your thoughts watching this. We understand introducing dogs can be stressful and confusing, we are here to help we do it ALL THE TIME!!!

It’s a family affair!! We love everything about this. Each member is putting effort into training the family dog. Thor is learning recall and this is a fun way to teach it. It is fun for the dog and it reinforces returning to my handler is fun.

Raven has arrived from Indiana!!! She will be with us for 4 weeks. We are very excited she is a service dog in training. Her owner is losing her eye sight and is required to travel for work. She needs Raven to search any location she is staying (VRBO or Air B&B) to make sure no one is inside since she can’t see. We are thrilled and honored to train Raven for this task. ❤️

Awe we got an update from our favorite GSP, FINN!!! We love getting these updates. Finn has worked hard along with his owners to improve his reactivity. Reactivity is a very common complaint from many owners of all breeds. It is not an overnight fix, and it is not a one size fits all solution. It can be complicated diagnosing the cause and how to work through it. If this is you, you are not alone!!! We absolutely love the effort and dedication of his family, this has not been easy but he is doing so much better and we are so happy!!

A transformation story to start… mixed with a lil of this and that 💕

We love getting updates in between lessons!!! This was a major accomplishment for this family, Clover chases cars and can be dog reactive.
