Hobo's Healing Heart A 501(c)3 charity aiding pet owners in the Black Hills of SD and Crook & Weston Counties in WY with emergency vet care grants & pet cremation grants.

We aid families in the Black Hills who are experiencing financial hardship with emergency veterinary care and pet cremation costs. We are an all-volunteer organization and work full-time jobs. We process applications during our lunch breaks Monday - Friday from 9am to 4pm when the vet clinics are available to answer questions. We aim to process emergency applications within 72 hours not including

weekends and holidays. This timing is solely dependent on how quickly the vet clinic and applicant respond to our requests for needed information. DO NOT DELAY URGENT/EMERGENCY CARE while waiting to find out if your application is approved or not. You will become ineligible for assistance if you delay care because delaying care can cause a health issue to become more costly or result in death of your pet. We cannot guarantee an approval nor how much, your pet's life is YOUR responsibility whether or not we are able to assist. We do our best to respond to Facebook messages and emails in a timely manner, however sometimes we do not have the manpower to do so and must prioritize our jobs first, then applications for assistance. If you need assistance, the FASTEST and ONLY way to start the process is to review the eligibility requirements and complete the appropriate application. Inquires made regarding assistance may not get a response within the 14-day from initial vet visit application requirement resulting in an automatic denial for assistance, so it is important to complete the application instead of messaging to ask about assistance.

We no longer assist with pregnancy related emergencies or medical emergencies preventable by spaying and neutering your pets. The best way to avoid such emergencies is to be proactive and have your pets spayed and neutered.

At Hobo’s Healing Heart, we know how deep the bond is between people and their pets. The Rainbow Bridge is a place we hold close in our hearts — a place of love, healing, and reunion.

Today, we honor the pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and the paw prints they’ve left on our souls. 💜

🚫 A Note to Our Community 🚫

We want to take a moment to remind everyone that all communication with Hobo’s Healing Heart must go through our official application process and organizational contact channels.

It is not appropriate to contact the board or the founder using any other means outside of our official contact information or application. Doing so is disrespectful, delays the process, and is an attempt to bypass the same requirements every applicant is held to.

Our policies are in place to ensure fairness, consistency, and accountability to our donors. They will not be waived or changed under any circumstances. Attempts to go around the process may result in being added to our permanent ineligible list.

We are so grateful to those who continue to share information about Hobo’s Healing Heart and help spread the word about our mission. 💙🐾 However, please do not tag board members’ personal pages or encourage others to contact us personally.

We are all volunteers, and our personal pages are for our lives outside of work and volunteer activities. We love what we do, but we also love — and need — our down time. Please respect this boundary so we can continue serving our community with integrity and compassion.

💙🐾We love when our sponsors help make events in the Black Hills even more welcoming for everyone - including the four-legged attendees! 🐾 At the Hot Rods for the Hatchery event this past weekend in Spearfish there were Dog Watering Stations available so all the pups checking out the cars could stay hydrated. We were excited to see they were provided by Walk N Wash.❤️
