We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or credentialed Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while also supporting the clinic's operations.

Job Type: Full-time (10 hour shifts)

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 / hr
Credentialed Technicians: wage to be negotiated DOE. Opportunity for wage increase after probationary period.

🌟Experience Required: Veterinary Clinic or Animal Relevant - 1 year🌟

Responsibilities
✅Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals.
✅Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
✅Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring proper dosage and timing.
✅Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including examination rooms, kennels, and surgical areas.
✅Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinarian.
✅Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with team members and clients.
✅Assist with laboratory work, including sample collection and processing.
✅Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments and managing client communications when necessary.

Requirements
👉1 year previous experience in a veterinary setting or experience in a similar role.
👉Strong skills in animal handling.
👉Understanding of veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team.
👉Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
👉A positive attitude towards animals and their owners is essential for success in this role.

AI truly can do the impossible! 🤖✨ We could NEVER actually get Chachi to participate in a real-life holiday photoshoot—he has much more important napping to do. 🦁💤

Well, the results are in: Toast and Finch are officially spayed, and they have exactly zero stars to give this experience. 😹💥
​The girls are home and recovering well, but they aren't exactly "loving" their new recovery gear. They have entered a very dramatic era of feline fashion in their house.😅😅

We're going places!

Recently, Dr. Garbel was invited to Texas to join a panel of veterinarians and present case studies on Arthramid. Our patient response to joint injections (Arthramid and PRP) for arthritis has been very encouraging! If you're wondering about your dog as a potential joint injection candidate, call and schedule a consultation.

Next week, Dr. Jackie will head to Texas to further expand her ultrasound skills and learn to identify advanced liver defects as well as measure blood pressure in the vessels around the liver. Passionate about ultrasonography (and we mean passionate to the nerdiest degree), she's excited to bring her new skills back to SVC to stay ahead of the curve for patient care.

An echocardiogram is a non-invasive, real-time ultrasound scan of the heart used to evaluate its structure, function, and blood flow. Meet June, the sweetest fainting goat who took a temporary timeout for a hernia repair with Dr. Martin. We're happy to report she has made a full recovery and we thoroughly enjoyed having her in the clinic.

Chachi does not share the same sentiment. 😏

We have a fun case to share with you, emphasizing why routine dental cleanings with radiographs are so important! These are dental xrays from Dr. Jackie’s dog, Elna. The first image is a normal radiograph. The second image is what we found on Elna’s radiographs! There is a large black circle where normal bone is supposed to be. This is called a dentigerous cyst – it forms when there are unerupted teeth under the gum line. It is impossible to detect without radiographs, because the mouth looks completely normal to the naked eye. Over time, these cysts will grow and involve other teeth, and lead to pain and jaw weakening. Unfortunately, Elna had to have numerous teeth removed due to how large the cyst became, however once the cyst was removed, the bone healed back and Elna is back to her happy, goofy self!
