Coal is doing amazing, he’s chillin on the heating pad. We’re slowly healing on his tail bit and he is no longer needing help to urinate. His one toes does not have bone in it and is still expecting to be amputated.

And we have a new litter of kittens! Of course as our month has been going, it couldn’t be a normal litter lol. These 4 littles are itty bitty, their weights ranged from 55 grams to 109 grams. The aren’t premature but the vets guess is they possibly only had partial placental attachment, and only received limited nutrients during moms pregnancy. They are doing good at the moment, latching on, going to the bathroom and gaining weight.

You might of noticed we haven’t post but the necessary this week as we’ve been very busy with animal care. It has been a struggle with our kittens for at least a month now, a wicked viral infection that has left some with damage to their eye and some that had to have the eye removed. Testing had given us the exact diagnosis and their receiving the appropriate medications.
We also received a cat named Little Foot because of an injury he received as a kitten. Vet care was never sought and he has been enduring the pain and disability ever since. Unfortunately, the remedy was to remove the entire leg. His surgery went great and he is now on the road to recovery and learning to live with 3 good legs.
We also received 3 kittens and a female dog that had been living in flea infested environment. The kittens are otherwise healthy and receiving the appropriate treatments but Lilly has been so infested for so long that she has lost a lot of hair, open sores from consistently scratching, inflamed, hot and hairless skin. Her bloodwork shows she is anemic from the amount of bites and has a secondary infection from the scratching. This girl is so sweet and we are going to get her healthy, spayed and adopted.
