FOOD DRIVE FOR TOTAL MINISTRIES
WEDNESDAY--FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4TH--6TH
302 SOUTH PINE STREET
11:00-2:00 EACH DAY

Our only scheduled event for December will be our food drive for TOTAL MINISTRIES and those dates are December 4, 5 and 6TH and we’ll do like last year where there will be a drop off tent at my office and you can come by and leave your donations. Last year, we had around 1000 pounds of supplies! Let’s beat that total this year!

The Spartanburg Area Citadel Club's tailgate at The Citadel vs Wofford football game will begin at 11:00 AM on November 16. The cost is $20/person, which includes the bar, but donations toward the cost of the bar will also be accepted. The tailgate will be held on the visitor's side of Gibbs Stadium, entering off Pine Street next to the Starbucks.

The club enjoyed getting together to celebrate the Spartanburg Area incoming Citadel Class of 2028, as they enjoy their summer and report to Charleston in August.

Special thanks to our current Citadel cadets from the area, who gave great advice to the incoming k***s.

7:00 Game Time

Mark your calendars for our annual Citadel-Wofford basketball rivalry in Spartanburg on Saturday, February 10th at Richardson Center. Game time is 7:00 PM and come early for some pizza. Doors open at 6:00. We have arranged for us to have 40 tickets behind our team’s bench so we can sit together as a group. To order your ticket, call Shelby at Wofford College (864-597-4091), identify yourself as Spartanburg Area Citadel Alumni, and she’ll take your order. We need to have a big crowd to cheer our ‘DOGS to victory! Come, have some pizza, and there will be a special halftime show from kids at Pine Street. Tickets are $15 each.

We were honored to host a Citadel delegation, including President Gen. Glenn Walters '79 and Provost Dr. Sally Selden, as well as 4 outstanding cadets from the Upstate, who were here to engage many prospective incoming Citadel cadets from the Spartanburg area and their families.

Next, Citadel Alumni gathered to tailgate 🍗🍻 and cheer on our Women's Volleyball team 🏐, competing in the Southern Conference Tournament at Wofford in Spartanburg.

The result was not what we wanted, but they played hard, and represented The Citadel very well on the court! Good Job Ladies!

It was a special opportunity to mingle with some of the Volleyball Team families, as well as show our support for Citadel Athletics in the Upstate. We even had The Citadel's Commandant of Cadets, Col. Tom Gordon join us. I think he likes us, or he really likes the Charleston-to-Spartanburg drive (which is not that great, so it must be the former)!

This past month has been great for Citadel Alumni in Spartanburg!

First, we welcomed Dr. Shankar Banik, PhD Professor and Head of The Citadel's Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences Director, and Ms. Malory Saunders-Gooding, Project Coordinator for Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences at The Citadel.

Dr. Banik has done an amazing job in growing the Cyber and Computer Science Department, the opportunities that cadets have now is awesome.

Calling all Spartanburg Area Citadel Fans, Alumni, Cadets, and Family. Join the Spartanburg Citadel Club for a pre-match tailgate at 3pm in the parking lot of the Ben Johnson arena Saturday(tomorrow 11/18) at Wofford followed by the semifinal match of the SoCon Volleyball Championship at 5pm. Adult tickets are $10 and students are $5. The Lady Bulldogs have a phenomenal 26-2 season record. Join us for tailgate fun and let’s give the Bulldogs a LOUD Upstate Cheering Section at the game. A win tomorrow and we will repeat Sunday afternoon tailgate at 2 and game at 4! Feel free to bring food and drink to add to the tailgate fun. Look for Citadel text and flag! Let’s do this💙 🏐

We had a great time sending off the Spartanburg Area Class of 2027 K***s! Presently, they are halfway through one of the longest weeks of their lives and we wish them the best!

Special thanks to our speakers from The Citadel, who made the drive up from Charleston: Tom McAlister - Executive Director of the Citadel Alumni Association, Page Tisdale - Director of the Citadel Career Center, Bobby Houck, The Citadel Foundation, and Chad Fabor, Director of Admissions.

As always, thanks to our club President Claude Saleeby and Treasurer Ryan McCarty for running the event, and our local Citadel Alumni for the great turnout and support of our Class of 2027 K***s!
