🐾August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month!🐾

🎉🐾 Happy 2nd Birthday, Zoe! 🐾🎉

Her birthday may have been yesterday, but the celebration continued today at daycare—and we think birthdays deserve more than one day anyway!

We aren't the only ones who love spoiling these dogs! Zoe's mom brought pup cups for Zoe and all of her friends to help celebrate, and there were plenty of wagging tails and happy faces to go around.

Science may not officially confirm it, but we're pretty sure nose boops increase tail wags, purrs, and the amount of love in your home by at least 1,000%. 😉

Due to changes Chewy has made to their veterinary prescription portal, we will no longer be able to automatically process prescription requests or place prescriptions on their site for you through their system.

If you prefer to use Chewy:
No problem! We are still happy to provide you with a written prescription that you can submit directly to Chewy for fulfillment.

Dr. Caroline’s periodic reminder that rabies is bad!

Even though it took some time to diagnose this poor child, it wouldn’t have mattered if he was diagnosed at his first doctors visit.

Rabies is fatal 100% of the time once symptoms start. Just the first symptom. A few people have survived but live in permanent comas and have brain damage such that they are never expected to recover. We’re talking Swiss cheese brains. This is why we vaccinate ALL pets.

An 11-year-old Canadian boy has died from rabies after waking up with a bat on his nose and mouth.

🐾 **July is National Lost Pet Prevention Month!** 🐾

A few simple steps today can make all the difference if your pet ever goes missing.

✔️ Make sure your pet wears a collar with a current ID tag.
✔️ Keep your contact information up to date with your pet's microchip company.
✔️ Check fences, gates, and doors around your home for any escape routes.
✔️ Take a current photo of your pet—just in case you ever need it.

**Did you know?** We can scan your pet's microchip anytime during business hours to make sure it's still working. While we can't update your registration for you, we're happy to help verify that a chip is present and answer any questions about keeping your information current.

With summer vacations, fireworks, and outdoor adventures, July is one of the busiest times of year for lost pets. A few minutes of prevention can help ensure your best friend always finds their way home. ❤️🐶🐱
