We officially have eggs! 🥚🐠

Only one week after moving this Red Devil Koi pair into their own tank, they successfully laid their clutch right on the breeding cone. I am incredibly excited to see this project officially taking off. Fingers crossed for some wigglers soon! 😤

Did we just get a breeding pair?! 👀🐠

​I noticed these two Red Devil Koi spending a lot of time together, cleaning off a flat spot, and defending their territory. Those are classic breeding signs! I decided to move them into their own tank so they have a safe space to spawn. Fingers crossed we see some eggs soon! 😤

​At almost four months old, these Super Red BNP fry are absolutely thriving in the 10-gallon tank. Both batches are putting on serious size, and that solid orange color is glowing. 😤

Massive new fish reveal! 🐠🔥

​I have been eyeing these for months and actually kept them a secret in the fish room for a little over a month now! I am incredibly excited to finally show off this stunning group of Red Devil Koi Angelfish. The red and orange coloration on these guys is already looking amazing. This is going to be a major new project for DFM Aquatics! 😤

13 weeks old and looking amazing! 📈

​These Super Red BNP fry are officially past the three-month mark and are absolutely thriving in the upgraded 10-gallon tank. Both batches are growing fast, their solid orange color is totally locked in, and they are super active. 😤

Tank upgrade! 📈

​We officially moved the Super Red fry from the 5-gallon into a brand new 10-gallon grow-out tank. Even better, I just moved the second batch in with them, so we now have two massive clutches growing out together in the extra space! 😤

11 weeks old and looking amazing! 📈

​At almost three months old, the solid bright orange color on these Super Red BNP fry is absolutely stunning. They are eating non-stop, putting on serious size, and getting so close to being ready for new homes. 😤

The emergency rescue was a success! 🏆

​It's been three days since the male kicked out half his clutch, and our sponge filter net method worked perfectly to hatch them artificially. The best part? The male did a fantastic job raising the remaining half in his cave too! We officially have a good sized, healthy batch. 😤

🚨Emergency Egg Rescue! Today we have something that has never happened to me before. Our male Super Red kicked out about half of his clutch, and I am going to see if I can care for them myself! 🥚

​As you can see, I grabbed a net, placed it over the sponge filter, and dropped the eggs inside. Doing this achieves a gentle flow to emulate the male fanning the eggs. This keeps them clean and oxygenated so they don't fungus over. I will keep them like this for a couple of days and monitor them closely. Fingers crossed, and follow along for updates! 😤🤞
