We recently welcomed a litter of pomskys to rescue and they are doing SO well in rescue!

Lobo and Wizard are two from the litter who bring smiles to our faces every morning, afternoon, AND evening. They are goofy, friendly, and very loyal little fellas. This litter is reported to be 75% husky, 25% Pomeranian and we do believe that to be true based on their appearance and personalities.

Foster Needed!

Mal is a super handsome little man who is waiting so very patiently to find a foster home! Our coordinator walked in this morning and was like "where is the puppy?!... things are so quiet!" Well, Mr Mal was taking a morning snooze. He didn't mind waking up for a quick photo and then went back to bed!

Hi, my name is Twirl, but my foster family calls me Whirly or Twirly Girl. I may be small (just 8.5 lbs), but I’ve got a big personality and a heart full of love. I’m all tail wags and wiggles! I can be a little nervous at first, but I warm up quickly — especially if you offer me pets and belly rubs (I’ll even paw at you to remind you!).

I love snuggling on the couch and getting comfy with my people. I also get the cutest zoomies when I come out of my kennel and enjoy playing with other dogs. That said, I’d be totally fine as the only dog too. I currently live with two cats and I completely ignore them.

I’m a goofy, happy girl and I make my foster family laugh all the time with my silly antics. I came from a breeding background, so I was never potty trained, but I’m just starting to learn! I’ll need a patient family willing to help me continue with this.

I sleep quietly in my kennel at night and keep it clean. I am sometimes quiet in my kennel during the day too, but it depends on how long I’ve been in it and if other dogs are barking. I can get a little anxious when I can’t find my people, so I’d do best in a home where someone is around a lot.

I’m also missing quite a few teeth, so I need my food softened. My foster just adds a little warm water to my kibble, and it’s perfect for me to eat!

I’m ready for a home where I can continue to feel safe, loved, and finally live the good life. I’d make a wonderful, loyal little companion to someone with a little patience and a lot of love to give.

Check out this absolute beefcake studmuffin! 😍

Chocolate is a 3-year-old male pittie mix hoping to arrive to Coco's Heart soon. We just got these new photos of him from the shelter down in Texas and we are officially even more obsessed than we already were! He is a happy, wiggly, friendly boy, and he looks like BFF material for sure.

Still searching for the right foster home for Tulip!

This little piggie is just the cutest thing! 🐷 She looks larger in photographs but she is only about 30lb, like the size of a large frenchie.

Tulip is deaf and vision impaired. She is happy, active, playful, friendly, everything you'd expect from a 1-year-old bulldog mix. But because of her impairments, she has a higher level of reactivity to unfamiliar dogs and she struggles more with being crated. Tulip needs a home where she can be the only dog, and a foster who is able to slowly work on her ability be crated or if not crated, safely left alone.

Welcome to Coco's Heart Papi!

Papi is an 8-pound, 4-month-old Papillon pup who’s as charming as they come! Right now his ears are adorably floppy, but he may grow into the signature Papillon “butterfly” look as he gets older. Either way, his sweet face and bright eyes will melt your heart.

This little guy is equal parts snuggly and spunky. He adores curling up with his people, gets along wonderfully with his pittie mix foster sister, and loves being doted on by his human foster sisters. Papi is also a smart pup—he keeps his kennel clean all night, showing he’s already on his way to good potty habits.

Like a true Papillon, Papi is clever, curious, and full of joy. He’ll happily entertain you with his playful puppy antics, then settle in close for cuddles when it’s time to wind down.

Papi is searching for his forever family—a home where he can share his sweetness, silliness, and endless love. Could he flutter his way into your heart? 🦋❤️

We are hoping to secure some martingale collar donations, with shelter dogs from Texas and others needing our help and hoping to secure a ride to rescue in the near future, we would love to have martingale collars ready to go for them when they arrive. Martingale collars provide safety and security for our dogs in rescue, we fit each dog with a martingale collar when they arrive to CHDR, can you help supply a rescue dog with a Martingale collar?

Welcome to Coco's Heart Louie Bluey!

Check out this update from his foster family on how he is doing- "Louie Bluey (we call him Bluey) was plastered at the back of the kennel when we picked him up but hopped right into rescue and foster life within a day or two! He is a playful guy, loving to play tug or keep away with other dogs or toss the toys around the room all by himself! He likes to be in the room or outside with you when you go! Bluey is quiet and clean in his kennel. Potty training is generally going well but still in process. He isn't a fan yet of going out in the rain. He is walking on a leash but doesn't have great awareness of all the leashes when walking with other dogs and ends up tangled quite a bit. Overall, he is a sweet playful guy with a gorgeous deep red color who would hop right into almost any type of family!"

Rescue doesn't take weekends off...

We were urgently notified over the weekend of a local situation where a drug bust took place and there were five dogs needing help immediately. One lucky pup has found a foster but his two littermates, Hal (female) and Mal (male) as well as the two adult females (about 40 lbs each) are still needing foster commitments ASAP!
