Coco's Heart takes in neglected animals, provides them with medical care and a loving environment.

Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue is an effort grounded in love, dedication and determination. The dream of establishing this rescue started back in 2000 when a very special dog, Coco, passed away unexpectedly at age 5. The loss inspired Coco’s owner, 12 year-old Ashley, to save other canine friends in his name. Ashley and Coco had been the best of friends and it is in his name that this endeavor lives on…. CHDR depends on private donations to function and rescue friends in need.

It could have ended differently. He could have suffered like others on the property he was helped from....he is one of the lucky ones!

Saw is a stunning 4 month old rott/lab puppy. He is INCREDIBLE. His life....bright because he had a chance at rescue.

He needs a foster family! Can you help him? His temp foster says he is easy peasy, happy with other dogs and kiddos, and catching onto home life (he was left in the cold and elements without protection before rescue) ❤️

About Gwennie:
"I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to play ball! 🎾 I’ll play by myself, with you, or with your kids if you have them. My foster mom has kids, and OMG, I LOVE them! My whole body wiggles, my tail goes crazy, and I get the biggest smile when they’re around. 🥰

Now, there are a few things you should know about me:
Cats are NOT my thing. I’m looking for a cat-free home, please! I’m learning that other dogs can be friends and not enemies. I’ve been doing really well, but I need some time and patience to get comfortable with other dogs in my space. I’m working hard on learning to accept them as friends. I sleep really well in my crate. I even like to periodically rearrange and nestle my bed throughout the night because a girl needs her beauty sleep to be just right!

I’m playful, silly, sweet, and full of personality. I’m learning, growing, and becoming more beautiful every day. All I need now is a family who will give me the love, patience, and forever home I deserve!"

"Big puppy, even BIGGER heart! Rascal is a boxer mix who is the perfect combination of sweet, playful, and goofy! This happy-go-lucky dude loves life and is always happy whether he’s playing with his favorite toys, finding a cozy spot for a nap, or learning something new. He’s a smart boy, too, and VERY treat motivated, so training sessions are right up his alley!

Rascal is a social butterfly who loves dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities, both boys and girls. He enjoys making friends and would love a home where he can share his big heart and playful spirit.

He’s already doing well walking on a leash, keeps his crate clean, and is potty trained! He’s got a great foundation and is ready to keep learning and growing with his forever family.

If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, big ol’ goober who will keep you smiling, make you laugh, and fill your home with love, Rascal might just be your guy! "

About Pawblano aka Pablo:
"Pablo is a happy and fun little guy with plenty of personality. Based on his dentition and overall condition, a CHDR veterinarian estimates that he is around 2 to 3 years old.

Since coming into rescue, Pablo has been making great strides and showing more of his fun side. He walks great on a leash, loves zoomies in the grass, and has started showing a real interest in making friends with other dogs. He has also been very sweet with the children he's met.

When he is not out exploring, Pablo is perfectly content snoozing in his dog bed sleeping or chewing a bone. He also loves treats and breakfast time. He has a relaxed side to balance out his playful energy, making him a fun little companion to have around the house.

Pablo is also a cheerful greeter! He gets excited when he sees me and makes sure I know it with his enthusiastic tail wags. He is still learning to feel fully comfortable with affection, so a patient, gentle approach will help him continue coming out of his shell. Pablo also sleeps well through the night in his crate.

Pablo is still learning and growing, but he has so much to offer. He is playful, curious, and easy to appreciate, and it is a joy to watch him become more comfortable in his own little world."

" I am 17 weeks old, weighing in at 15.20 lb of adorable!!! I am a very happy, silly, little girl covered in freckles. I have a smile on my face and tail that won’t stop wagging, despite my jetlag. There is another puppy here. We played outside chasing each other in the leaves. My foster mommy says I am beautiful and can run super-fast.

I really appreciate snacks and will sit for a treat immediately!

Foster mom says I will be working on-going potty outside. Walking on a leash and sleeping in my kennel. Also giving her lots of snuggles!! That’s her favorite! I am so excited to find my family."

"Your Big, Lovable Gentle Giant! This sweet Great Pyrenees girl made the journey all the way from Tennessee, and she is looking for her forever home! Dreaka is a true "shadow dog"—she loves nothing more than following you around the house and keeping an eye on her favorite people.

Dreaka has zero realization of just how big she is and firmly believes she’s built to be a lap dog. If you sit down, don't be surprised when a giant, fluffy cuddle monster tries to climb right up for snuggles!

Here is what makes Dreaka so special:

Kids: Absolutely wonderful with children and loves being part of a family.

Potty Trained: House-trained and ready to move right in.

Kennel Manners: She is kennel trained, though she’d much prefer to wander freely and find a cozy spot on the floor where she can supervise the household.

Other Dogs: She is open to dog friends! She just needs a little bit of time and a proper adjustment period to get comfortable with new canine companions.

"Duely is an 8-month-old pup with the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddly sweetness. He loves his toys, snuggling up next to you on the couch, and learning new things (especially when treats are involved!).

He can be a little shy at first and may send a few woofs your way, but it’s only because he wants to be your friend! Duely is loving playing with his foster sisters and he would love a playful canine sibling in his forever home.

Like any young pup, Duely is still learning and making progress with his potty training! He does great in his crate and has kept it clean. He may whine a little when first settling in, but once he’s comfortable, he stays quiet and sleeps peacefully through the whole night!"

Today we are featuring some of our most festive doggos, in hopes they catch the attention of their forever family! Paws crossed!

About Chessy:
"Hi, Chessy here with an update! I've been with my foster mom and brother for 3 months now! Time sure flies and I'm having fun but I would love to meet my forever family!

I loved summer and getting to play in my little pool but now there are leaves on the ground that I get to jump in. It's getting cooler, maybe I'll get to wear a sweater! Going for walks is so exciting. I walk good on my leash but get stubborn when there is a squirrel, rabbit, or cat I want to chase but can't. Car rides are fun too and I take a little nap during the ride (look at my cute car picture).

I eat fast but my slow feeder bowl or scattering my food helps. I enjoy spending time in my kennel when I'm sleeping or when my foster mom isn't home. I'm still practicing my patience and sharing, but who isn't at my age! Sometimes I take my foster brothers toys and treats away because I like them but my foster mom takes them back and says that's not ok. I handle it well because she always gives me something else to play with! We still compete with each other to see who's the best dog; he is fun to play with and we like to chase each other around the yard. I also got to be a model (new pics!) and I love attention. I've met a few kids so far; I loved when they pet me and when I give them kisses. I love to explore, play fetch, snuggle, learn new things, eat treats, and play with my toys.

I love having another dog friend around, but it would be nice to be the only dog in a home while I continue to get used to living my life outside of the shelter."

About Jada:
- Fully potty trained and rarely chews things she shouldn’t
- Walks nicely on a leash with a training collar
- Takes verbal cues well
- Super smart and fast learner
- Kennels willingly and on command, and sleeps quietly all night
- Loves to wrestle with other dogs, but still working on play manners. Does best as an only dog or with a sturdy, confident buddy.
- Keeps a respectful distance from my assertive cats
- Excellent communicator. She clearly tells us when she needs to go outside to potty, and she respectfully reminds me when it's dinnertime by politely sitting in her kennel where she gets fed."
