I have people point these nail trimmers out to me from time to time! In my experience they do not have enough power to cut nails. I have had two people bring them to me to use on there dogs that hate nail trimming. They literally stop spinning when you apply enough pressure to cut the dogs nails. This was even with a 10 pound dog. Don’t be fooled by its painful to use a regular nail trimmers, It’s just marketing! Some dog’s are not bothered by nail trimming while others are very dramatic. Ways to get your dog use to nail trims are????

Trim them every 3 days at home.
Do one or two nails at each session.
Goto YouTube and watch some videos on how to trim your dog’s nails.
Have someone else hold and talk to you dog while trimming nails.
Trim very small amounts off.
Give them treats after nail trimming.
Practice makes perfect, the more you trim their nails the more you desensitize them and the better you will be at it.

Nail trimming should be done weekly, it prevents the quick from growing long. Dogs that get walked have shorter nails, this is probably why in the Winter nails get longer faster.

This month marks 30 years as a dog groomer. I started out as a CVT and after showing the American Cocker Spaniel, I easily transitioned to a dog groomer. My hobby was showing Cocker Spaniels and I didn’t want to groom on my day’s off. As a CVT I met a litter of Vizsla puppies and knew that was the breed for me. I’ve always gravitated and had a deep respect for dogs and animals. Thank you all for entrusting me with your family! Not ready to hang my clippers up yet!
