First horse show of the year is checked off!! We had a blast at Otter Creek Farm with Mister Maximus, Velero JV, CSP Funk You Up, and Outer Banks GSF!

Maddie and Mister Maximus, owned by Maggie Bourassa, got their first of two regional qualifying scores for their Queen 1st level freestyle and debuted at 2nd level this weekend!

Maddie and Velero JV received a qualifying score at both 2nd and 3rd level with a high score of 69%! Velero was an excellent citizen and gave his owner, Tammy Erskine, a fantastic Training level ride with a 64% and a blue ribbon! This horse has come such a long was since being diagnosed with EPM last year!

Maddie and CSP Funk You Up made their Training level debut this weekend before passing off the ride to his owner, Tammy, who rode him for the first time at a recognized dressage show and nailed it at intro level!

Raiyne and Outer Banks made their FEI debut this weekend and rode some super tests to get their first couple scores for NAYC! They also earned two qualifying scores for regionals and two scores towards a Bronze medal!

Maddie also achieved her Bronze medal with Distinction for scores above a 67% at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level!

Just like Dorothy following the yellow brick road with the companions she met along the way, I followed the ‘road’ to my USDF Gold Medal. And like the friends Dorothy found on her journey, I, too, was fortunate to meet many people along the way who lifted me up and helped make the dream of earning my gold medal on a 14.1-hand grade pony a reality!”

Our first recognized Working Equitation show is in the books! We started off the weekend strong with a 67.5% in our dressage test and a 69% in our Ease of Handling Round! On day 2, we improved our confidence in the dressage test and earned a 72.1% with a comment that we have the skills for L7 (highest level). We greatly improved our Ease of Handling but unfortunately a rider error on my part with my second side pass pole got us disqualified. We had a lovely speed round each day and ended with working cattle, which we’ve done exactly once before this weekend 🤣
