A Question I am commonly asked as a local Veterinarian who’s specialty is In-Home Euthanasia…

🐾 My pet is has been declining for quite some time, but now they’re having trouble breathing. Can you come RIGHT NOW?

🌈 if your pet is in distress, please do not wait for Anyone to come to you, grab your pet and go to an emergency animal hospital ASAP. Unfortunately there is No such thing as a Mobile Emergency Veterinarian. When scheduling an appointment, If I am able to come to you the same day, I will absolutely make Every possible effort to do so, but I Cannot Guarantee I will be able to get to your pet same day due to scheduled patients.
Deciding when it’s your pet’s time, Is incredibly emotional and difficult decision. Please look at their quality of life. Do you think they have a good quality of life the way they are Right Now? Not six months ago, but now? Food is Not always a good prognostic factor. There are some dogs that are food driven, they will always be food driven, so Please, don’t wait until they get to the point where they’re not eating. They are always going to wag their tail when they see you. You are their person, but does that indicate they have a good quality of life?

I help your pet peacefully and painlessly cross over the rainbow bridge with kindness and compassion in the comfort of your home surrounded by loved ones.🐾🌈

Warm Regards,
Dr. Meredith

A Question I am commonly asked as a local Veterinarian who’s specialty is In-Home Euthanasia…

🐾 How do I know it’s my dog’s time?

🌈 Deciding when it’s your dog’s time, Is incredibly emotional and difficult decision. Please look at your dog’s quality of life. Does your beloved pet get up and play regularly? Is it hard for them to get up and sit down? Do they still do the activities that they enjoy? Do they sometimes go into a room and seem lost? Are they panting or pacing more? Do they still want you to hold them? Are they isolating themselves? Food is Not always a good prognostic factor. There are some dogs that are food driven and will eat right up until the end. If they are Not food driven, is there a change in there eating or drinking habits or their urination and defecation habits?
🌈 Do you think they have a good quality of life the way they are right now? Not six months ago, but now? They are always going to wag their tail when they see you, but does that indicate they have a good quality of life?

I help your pet to peacefully cross over the rainbow bridge with kindness and compassion in the comfort of your home surrounded by loved ones.🐾🌈

A Question I am commonly asked as a local Veterinarian who’s specialty is In-Home Euthanasia…

🐾 My dog doesn’t appear to be in pain. He’s not crying, he’s not yelping.
🌈 as dogs become older, they become more stoic. Their job is to protect you. They are not going to let you see them in pain. If they are having difficulty standing up, they Are in Pain. If they are having difficulty walking, they Are in Pain. This is not a question, this is a statement.
Your beloved pet has been by your side and has protected you their entire life. They are now trusting you to take care of them, and to help stop their pain. Deciding when it’s your dog’s time, Is incredibly emotional and difficult decision. Please look at your dog’s quality of life. Do you think they have a good quality of life the way they are right now? Not six months ago, but now? They are always going to wag their tail when they see you, but does that indicate they have a good quality of life?
