🐾 Senior Sunday: Meet Nova! 🐶 A 6 year old, Female, Pittie Mix.
Nova came to us as an owner surrender after spending the last six years with her family. She has been with her previous owner since she was just 8 weeks old, so this transition has been incredibly difficult for her.
Nova is house trained, calm, easygoing, and an absolute lovebug. She’s an easy walker who will happily crawl right into your lap if you sit down and give her the chance. Her previous owner also shared that she did well with children.
She has done well with some dogs but not all, so she appears to be dog selective. Nova also enjoys chasing cats, though she doesn’t seem to want to harm them. With patience, training, and consistent redirection, she may be able to learn appropriate behavior around feline friends.
Right now, however, Nova is really struggling to adjust to shelter life. After spending six years in the same home, being left in a shelter is heartbreaking and confusing for any dog. She’s scared and overwhelmed.
Her future family should be prepared to give her the time and space she needs to decompress, build trust, and settle into her new furever home. We have no doubt that with patience, understanding, and lots of love, Nova’s true personality will shine through, and she’ll become the loyal, affectionate companion she’s meant to be.
