🔬 Guess what we’re looking at? 👀

These tiny oval structures are hookworm eggs… and there are a lot of them! 😳💩

Hookworms are intestinal parasites that attach to your pet’s intestines and feed on blood. Left untreated, they can cause:
🩸 Anemia
💩 Diarrhea
⚖️ Weight loss
😴 Weakness and lethargy
🐶 Puppies can become seriously ill from heavy infections.

The tricky part? Your pet may not show obvious signs until the infection is well established.

✨ The good news: A simple f***l exam lets us find these microscopic hitchhikers before they cause bigger problems. Monthly parasite prevention and routine f***l testing are the best defense!

🔬 What you're seeing under the microscope...

Those tiny purple, rod-shaped bacteria are exactly what our veterinarians look for when diagnosing certain ear infections! 🦠

Not all ear infections are the same. Some are caused by yeast, others by cocci (round bacteria), and some—like this sample—contain rod-shaped bacteria, which can be more challenging to treat and often require specific medications.

By performing an ear cytology, we can identify what's causing the infection and choose the most effective treatment for your pet. This helps get them feeling better faster while avoiding unnecessary medications.

If your pet is shaking their head, scratching their ears, or has a foul odor or discharge, don't wait—let's take a look! 🐶🐱💙
