Let’s get this pup home! 💙

We are not quite desperate—but we’re getting there!

Please, please, please—help us get this dog home. She was brought in over the weekend with a tangled, red tieout-line attached, after having been found on Oxford Furnace Road. Her microchip information leads back to an incomplete registration, inserted by a local shelter. if this is your dog, she is at the Campbell County Shelter. 434-821-4416.

We had such a fun day at the opening of the Altavista Animal Clinic! We are excited for them and are grateful for the community’s support, including other local vet offices. They did a great job welcoming everyone and showing off their wonderful place. Thank you AAC for loving this town and helping share our mission of building a new animal shelter for Altavista and the six other districts of Campbell County!

P.S. That cute red dog with a gray face was already adopted from the Campbell County Animal Shelter … about ten years ago. Roosevelt is our BARCC President’s sixty pound lap dog. We encourage you to stop by the shelter to find a furry friend too! 🐾

OVER $1.2 MILLION RAISED! 💙🎉 This is the number we were honored to share at tonight’s Board of Supervisors meeting alongside our amazing team and supporters.
💙 : We are so grateful to each of you!
💙 : Our village helped get us to where we are today!
💙 : We summarized our journey including the original start of how Jeannie and Katie attended a budget Board of Supervisors meeting, quite similar to the one we presented at tonight. This was before we even had a name, a plan, a logo, 501c3 status, or the dream to raise a million dollars. Just two citizens who loved their community and wanted to help.

Will we still need local support and donations? Absolutely. The shelter hasn’t broken ground yet and the more money donated, the better a facility it will be. But, for tonight … we will celebrate and feel gratitude to how far we have come and what we all have accomplished together.

We will feel thankful for the Board that went from $800,000 when we first met with them to the now $2.5 million set aside. We will feel excited for our community helping BARCC raise over $1.2 million dollars! Thank you for supporting us. This animal shelter will be built off of different sized donations, none too small. Tonight was filled with many emotions as we presented. From a trip down memory lane, to laughter, to tears, to cheers. While we were missing a huge part of our team (and heart), we know that:
