Bella was rescued from the recent cruelty case in Thurston County where we rescued over 70 animals who were living with deceased animals.

The pigs were afraid of humans after their initial rescue. It’s amazing how a little kindness, daily meals, fresh water, cozy beds, and a mud hole can improve their spirits and heal their trauma.

Bella has come full circle. She will crawl into your lab if it means you’ll rub her belly. She’s be longing for someone to show her love.

Every difficult day and horrible thing we’ve seen becomes absolutely worth it in these moments.

Thank you for coming along on these journeys with us. Thank you for caring and thank you for donating when the animals need you most.

We couldn’t be more grateful and neither could Bella. 💛💛

Thanks to your donations the pigs were in heaven yesterday enjoying a watermelon party!

It was a great way to keep everyone cool and hydrated during this current heatwave and we’re so grateful for your donations to make it happen.

The first several photos show the new pigs from the recent cruelty case have their first watermelon ever!! They loved it!

This sweet girl is one of the 71 animals we rescued with the Thurston County Sheriffs a few weeks ago.

She was the thinnest of the group. Starved. Left without water.

She loves eating now but all she’s wanted is for someone to rub her belly. To be KIND to her and to love her. She’s getting all that and more now.

It’s going to be 90 this Saturday and now that the new rescues have settled in, we’d like to throw them a watermelon party!

They’ve never even tasted watermelon so this is sure to be a special treat. We will need 60 watermelons for all the pigs here at the sanctuary.

Can you pitch in $5 or $10 to help? We’ll post videos and photos this Sunday of all the animals enjoying their tasty treats!

💥Update on the cruelty seizure of 74 animals in Thurston County!💥

All of the bloodwork and samples have come back and the animals are now clear to be adopted!

We have pigs, ducks, chickens(flocks of 1 rooster with 5-6 hens), and geese available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our adoption application. You can find the link in the comments. Please select any animal available and write in who you would like to adopt.

You must have a safe coop and be a pet only home. We’d like to keep the bonded pairs together so we will not be adopting out single animals.

If you have questions about adopting please let us know! We’d be happy to help you but please, serious inquiries only. We are a small team here at Heartwood Haven.

Dozens of abused animals are recovering at a sanctuary in Roy, Washington after they were seized from what rescuers describe as one of the most disturbing cruelty cases they’ve ever encountered.

Recovery is underway!

Meet the 7 pigs, from the Thurston County 67 recently rescued from cruelty.

They are covered in mange, were starved, and left without water. Recovery is a slow process but now they finally have access to water all day! 2 meals a day and are receiving treatment for their mange.

The pigs are elderly, most are over 11 years old. Now, they are finally being cared for and loved. The way all animals should be treated.

💥Update on the cruelty case💥

All 67 animals have arrived safely here to the sanctuary. They are safe but the difficult work begins now.

They all received food, water, and their first parasite treatments. The ducks bathed for hours, the chickens dust bathed, and the pigs made cozy beds in hay. All natural behaviors they’ve been denied for years.

Thanks to your donations, they are now free from the hell they were once living in. Thank you!
