Doorbell Vet offers technician visits as a convenient option available exclusively to our established clients. At these visits, we are able to provide many services including updating vaccines*, checking labwork, taking x-rays, administering medications or injections, nail trims, and much more!

*rabies vaccines must be administered under the direct supervision of or by a veterinarian in the state of New York.

Starting this Friday at 7 PM, all emergency services will be at our NEW REVS location:

We’re excited to continue our mission in a new space built just for the community! 🐾
Please note: REVS will no longer provide services at University Ave after Friday at 7 PM.

Our hours will remain the same as we continue to complete our phased construction.

Monday - Thursday 7pm to 7am
Friday 7pm to Monday 7am (24 hour weekends)

Exciting news! Please join us in welcoming the newest addition to the Doorbell Vet family, Dr. Katie Wolkin! Dr. Wolkin, a Rochester native, earned her Bachelor's degree from Colgate University in 2015 and went on to graduate with her veterinary degree from Cornell in 2021. After several years in general practice, she was drawn to Doorbell Vet because of their innovative philosophy and approach to pet care. Passionate about preventative medicine, Dr. Wolkin is dedicated to educating pet owners so that their animals can live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives. She also aspires to pursue a degree in social work or mental health counseling, aiming to promote not only the well-being of the pets she cares for, but their owners and her veterinary colleagues, as well. Outside of her veterinary work, Katie enjoys crochet, ceramics, cooking, reading, and gardening. She lives in Irondequoit with her husband, Matt, their yellow lab, Juniper, and floofy cat, Finnegan.

Avian Influenza (H5N1) in Cats

Though rare, H5N1, or bird flu, can be contracted by cats. There is considered to be low risk of cat-to-human transmission.

We recommend cats remain indoors away from wild birds and poultry.

Avoid feeding raw or unpasteurized dairy.

Decontaminate before seeing your pet if you work in agriculture or with farm animals.

💐Flowers and bouquets can pose a serious or even fatal risk to pets, for example all species of lilies (and their pollen) are toxic to cats
🍫Chocolate can be life-threatening if ingested by pets
🍭Many sugar alternatives are also dangerous to pets, particularly xylitol
💝Cats and dogs are curious creatures, be sure that decor, gifts and wrapping, candles, and other holiday traditions are kept out of your pet’s reach

It is hard to believe that we have been grieving the loss of Dr. Larry Silberg for 2 years. The staff of Doorbell Vet have been participating in an activity to help keep his memory alive, affectionately dubbed “Larry Rocks”. Staff members have expressed love and creativity by designing and crafting commemorative rocks for a memorial rock garden in Dr. Larry’s name.

We’d love to extend the invitation to our clients and loved ones of Dr. Larry to feel free to add their own contributions to the “Larry Rocks” memorial rock garden. You may drop off your contribution to Doorbell Vet during regular business hours. Location of the rock garden is currently TBD due to weather conditions.

Archie wanted to take a moment to wish you all Happy Howlidays!

We hope you enjoy the paws-itively wonderful holiday season, filled with plenty of treats, cuddle puddles, and belly rubs.
