Meet Bertha & Pooche – A Bond That Needs a Break
Bertha and Pooche came to us from an impound situation. We don’t know the full story, but what’s clear is that they’ve stuck together through whatever life has thrown at them. They’re a bonded pair and rely heavily on each other for comfort, especially here at the shelter where everything is loud, strange, and a little overwhelming.
Bertha, around five years old, is a mixed breed with soulful eyes and a quiet presence. Pooche, about two, is a wiry little terrier mix — shy, but curious in her own way. From day one, both have been very nervous here, which makes it hard to get clear pictures or to show people how sweet they really are. The camera only makes things harder, so we did what we could to put together a short video to help introduce them to the world.
They’re slowly working through their fears, step by step. They don’t need anything fancy — just a calm, kind home where they can settle in and feel safe again. Ideally, they’ll go together, because they truly seem to draw strength from each other.
