We were thrilled to welcome 9th and 10th grade students from Ranney High School for an exciting day of veterinary medicine exploration! Leading the way in VETucation! ✨

Students gained hands-on experience learning how to place tertiary bandages, practice taking TPRs, use stethoscopes, and discuss proper patient handling, restraint techniques, and patient safety monitoring. They also had the opportunity to bandage model animals and learn the importance of veterinary nursing skills.

One of the highlights of the day was interacting with exotic animals featuring tortoises, a snake, a bearded dragon, a ferret, a cat, and puppies! Students learned about species-specific anatomy, behavior, husbandry, handling considerations, and veterinary care while engaging directly with the animals.

Our team also shared their career journeys, discussed educational pathways and workplace realities in veterinary medicine, and answered thoughtful student questions about the profession.

Thank you to the students and faculty from Ranney for your enthusiasm and curiosity. We loved sharing our passion for animal care and helping inspire the next generation of veterinary professionals! 🐾

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating all the dads who show up with unwavering love, patience, and dedication, including the pet dads who never miss a walk, a vet visit, or a cuddle session.

We’d also like to give a special shoutout to Dr. Stobie. Whether he’s offering guidance, sharing wisdom, lending a helping hand, generously giving, or simply checking in on the teams, he has been a constant source of support, leadership, and care for all of us. His dedication to our hospitals, our patients, and our staff makes a difference every single day.

Hot weather can become dangerous for pets in minutes ‼️

Even on a mild day, the temperature inside your car can rise rapidly and become life-threatening.

Cracking the windows or parking in the shade does very little to keep pets safe. Never leave your dog unattended in a vehicle.

Protect your pets by avoiding hot pavement, limiting outdoor activity during peak heat, and always providing access to fresh water and shade. ☀️

Watch for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, including:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Weakness or collapse
• Disorientation
• Difficulty breathing

Remember the “Seven-Second Test”: If the back of your hand can’t stay on the pavement for seven seconds, it’s too hot for a walk.

If you notice signs of heat-related illness, move your pet to a cool area and call your primary veterinarian for extra precaution.
