Keep Halloween Fun & Safe for Your Pets! 🐾 🎃

Halloween is full of spooky fun, but we want to make sure your furry family members stay safe!
Some helpful tips for this Halloween:

Keep candy & chocolate out of reach - many Halloween treats can be toxic to pets.

Keep pets secure when opening doors - frequent visitors can increase the risk of your pet slipping outside.

Choose safe, comfortable costumes - make sure costumes fit properly and don’t restrict movement, breathing, or vision.

Keep pets away from candles, cords, & decorations - curious paws and noses can get into trouble!

Provide a quiet, safe space - help your pet relax away from the Halloween hustle and bustle.

Update ID tags & microchip information - just in case your pet makes an unexpected escape!

Service Update: Outpatient Ultrasound

We’re excited to offer outpatient ultrasound services with our very own Robert Wise, DVM, DACVR!

📍 Location: NorthStar VETS - Brick
📅 Availability: Mondays & Tuesdays

On-site radiologist available for ultrasounds through our Emergency Room, or via scheduled outpatient ultrasounds without a consultation.

A referral is required for all outpatient ultrasounds.

Important update for our Pet Parents: Wedgewood Pharmacy Recall

Wedgewood, a compounding pharmacy that supplies some of the medications we prescribe, has initiated a voluntary recall of certain products. This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. FDA.

According to Wedgewood, their own quality processes identified inconsistencies in certain analytical testing data. They report no increase in complaints or adverse events associated with the affected products to date, but they chose to recall them as a precaution.

Here’s what you need to know:

No action is needed unless you receive an official Recall Notice or your pet is taking an affected medication.

Please don’t stop or change your pet’s medication on your own. Call us first, and we’ll talk through the next steps and any appropriate alternatives together.

Meet Robert Wise, DVM, DACVR, of NorthStar VETS' Radiology Team!

Dr. Wise, originally from Maryland, is a graduate of Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and completed his residency in diagnostic imaging in 2026 at the University of Pennsylvania.

He enjoys all aspects of diagnostic imaging including radiology, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). His clinical areas of interest are advanced imaging of central nervous system disorders, oncological conditions, and emergency medicine.

At NorthStar VETS, we remain dedicated to advancing veterinary medicine through exceptional specialty care, clinical excellence, and compassion for every patient, their family, and the referring veterinary community.

Spend the day pumpkin decorating, getting lost in a "corn maze", trick or treating, having your face painted, enjoying delicious autumn refreshments!

We've got a photo station, petting zoo, games & activities, DJ, & more - come in costume, all are welcome!

This Family Fun Event is free for all guests, with a voluntary suggested 'admission fee' of non-perishable, shelf-stable food items (pet or people) for our Food Drive!

Bring your pets (as long as they are friendly with other animals, and leash or carrier secured, for the safety of all guests).
