Throughout this tragedy there have been few constants, one of which is the extent that Ed Walker and the Riverdale team have stepped up to take responsibility for their role and continue to do everything they can to help us stay alive and recover. We are eternally grateful.

One of the issues we face is the investigation by our insurance company whether we knew about the water being cut off. Riverdale’s response is a press release to clarify for us that they failed to inform us. This was not done with malicious intent and I would hope that in a world full of pointing fingers, that the community appreciates people stepping up and admitting when things go wrong and doing everything they can to fix it.

This release helps us in our fight with insurance. Restoration has been the whole goal of Ed purchasing Riverdale— and they should be applauded for their response to the tragedy that occurred to both parties- and so many others.

Riverdale didn’t start the fire and there are plenty of fingers to point but standing up for what is right and admitting your part, despite the negativity that might come, makes us proud to be a part of Riverdale. This will help us dramatically in the investigation with the insurance companies. To Ed and Riverdale Village staff- we commend you.
