🎉Happy 15th Birthday to our sweet Penny!🎉

Today we’re celebrating a very special girl turning the big 1-5!

Penny’s favorite things in life are simple: sunshine on her face, car rides with her favorite people, and helping raise countless foster puppies as the very best foster grandma around. She has welcomed so many little ones into her home, showing them patience, kindness, and unconditional love while they waited for their forever families.

But Penny is so much more than a beloved senior dog. She is the perfect example of our rescue “why.” She is the reason we keep going on the hard days, the reason we never give up even when it feels like the only option. Penny reminds us that every life matters, every dog deserves a chance, and that love can change everything.

She is the apple of her daddy’s eye, her mama’s whole heart, and a treasured member of the Mae’s Mutts family. We are so grateful for every tail wag, every cuddle, and every precious moment we’ve shared with this incredible girl.

Join us in wishing Penny the happiest 15th birthday! 💕 May her day be filled with sunshine, snacks, naps, car rides, and all the love she deserves.

🌟 Saturday Spotlight: Meet Moose! 🌟

Moose is a 5-year-old Dachshund with a heart full of love and a nose that never stops exploring! This sweet boy is playful, snuggly, goofy, and always ready to curl up in your lap after a walk or game of fetch.

Moose’s favorite things include burrowing under blankets, tug-of-war, sniffing absolutely everything, chasing toys, and soaking up all the cuddles he can get. He is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, making him an easy companion to have around.

Moose is looking for a child-free home where he can be the center of attention. While he may do okay with an exceptionally calm dog, he has always been a solo pup and would prefer a home all to himself.

Earlier this year, Moose was diagnosed with IVDD and successfully underwent surgery. He has made a wonderful recovery and will need a family committed to following his long-term care guidelines, including limiting stairs, avoiding furniture, and preventing rough play. The good news? His pet insurance coverage will transfer to his new family with no gaps in coverage.

Today is a very big day for our sweet Buttercup.

When Buttercup first came into rescue, she was emaciated, suffering from untreated diabetes, and navigating a severe heart murmur. Despite our best efforts, she struggled to gain weight because her diabetes was completely unmanaged. This little Beagle has endured more than any dog ever should.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve worked tirelessly alongside multiple incredible veterinary teams to tackle her challenges one by one. Every small victory has brought us closer to this moment.

Today, Buttercup is undergoing surgery to repair a massive inguinal hernia that is impacting her intestines.

Surgery is always risky, but for Buttercup, the stakes are even higher. Between her diabetes, heart condition, and fragile body, this procedure is especially challenging. But we know she’s a fighter, and she deserves every chance at the healthy, happy life she has never had.

We would be so grateful for your love, well wishes, positive thoughts, and prayers for our girl today as she undergoes surgery and begins the next chapter of her recovery. 🙏💗🐶

Small Breed Puppies. BIG Appetites.

The puppy population at Mae’s Mutts Rescue is booming… and we took in TEN MORE puppies just yesterday! 😳❤️

These tiny tots may be small, but they can sure put away some food. With so many growing puppies depending on us, we’re going through puppy food faster than ever.

These four Jack Russel Terrier pups arrived today and their planned foster cancelled.

So now these 4 babies need a place to go!

Here’s what we know about them:
✔️Approximately 5 months old
✔️Between 5-7 lbs each
✔️VERY dog friendly
✔️ Full of energy and love!

Ask #2

Butter is a 8ish month old pug mix (with what, who knows!) who is living outside in a surrounding county.

She is small (under 20 lbs.), sweet, dog friendly and desperately needs rescuing. We want to get her to safety, and are ready to bring her into rescue. We just need someone to open their home to this sweet girl.

If you can foster a pair of these pups, or open your heart and home to Butter, please message us. We provide all food, supplies, and medical. You provide love and safety while we search for their forever homes!
