A little update from LiFELINE 💜🐾
I realize I more or less disappeared from the rescue scene without ever really explaining why.
Since June 22, I’ve been dealing with serious health issues, multiple surgeries, and repeated hospital stays. At the time it all began, LiFELINE had a very full roster of cats and kittens in care, and I had to step away almost overnight.
I was incredibly fortunate to have people in the rescue community step in to help get cats placed, cared for, transported, fostered, and supported. Others continued quietly keeping pieces of LiFELINE moving in my absence, including helping our cats at PetSmart continue finding homes.
I’m not going to start naming names here because so many people helped in different ways, and the last thing I want to do is unintentionally leave someone out. Please know how deeply grateful I am to every single person who showed up for LiFELINE and for me when I couldn’t do it myself.
I’m finally beginning to feel better and improving every day, so I’m beginning to ease back into things. But I’m doing it differently this time.
Right now, my focus is on rebuilding the infrastructure behind the rescue — fosters, volunteers, transportation, supplies, systems, and support — before trying to take on rescue work again.
My return to active rescue will still depend on my rate of recovery. I still can’t drive or lift, so there are very real limits on what I can physically do right now.
You’ll hopefully start seeing more activity here again as I rebuild. Please don’t take that to mean intake has reopened. For now, I’m simply working toward making LiFELINE stronger, more sustainable, and better prepared for whatever comes next.
Thank you for sticking with us. 💜
