Our hearts are full as we share that several of our animals have recently found their forever homes! Their adoptions are the start of beautiful friendships, and their lives have been changed in the most wonderful way! Thank you to each adopter for giving these cuties what they've all been hoping for!

Paws up Prescott!! Thank you to everyone who came out today for our 3rd Vitalant Blood Drive... 18 people came out today to donate blood, including 4 of our staff (Trish, Chance, Allie and Loree) ~ Kris, Leah and Victoria who drew our blood, were AWESOME! AND we had 6 pawsome adoptions today!!! Sam & Wyatt were grilling and serving hot dogs, Axel brought her grandpa's old fashioned popcorn machine and was serving up bags of popcorn... Our volunteers were on hand walking dogs all day and everyone had fun!

We're excited to introduce Kaco, a handsome 9-year-old German Shepherd Mix! He has a happy and gentle demeaner that's sure to brighten your day! His well-behaved nature makes him a joy to be around. He’s a curious guy who enjoys meeting new people and observing other dogs during his walks. He absolutely loves attention, especially head scratches, and will gladly soak up all the attention you have to give! Kaco would do best in a home without cats or livestock. This distinguished gentleman is looking for his forever home, where he can enjoy a peaceful and happy life by your side! 🐾 When Forever Isn’t Forever 💔
We’ve had a heartbreaking trend lately — dogs coming back to us soon after adoption.
💔 Lillie — returned because her adopter admitted, “I made an impulsive decision to adopt her without knowing how much work owning a dog is.”
💔 Roxanne (just 5 months old) — returned for “chasing a cat.” Have we not all watched Tom & Jerry? Sometimes they’re still figuring things out!
💔 Bunny — returned for… chasing birds in the yard. (Apparently, someone forgot to tell her she’s not a cartoon coyote.)
While we can smile at the reasons, the truth is this: adoption is a lifetime commitment. It takes patience, training, and understanding — especially with young or energetic dogs. They need time to learn the rules of their new home and trust their new family.
If you’re thinking of adopting, please make sure you’re ready for both the joy and the responsibility. These amazing dogs deserve a forever that’s truly forever. 💙

🐾💙 Thanks to the incredible support of our amazing community, 26 dogs and 13 cats have found their forever homes this past week! Each adoption is a new beginning filled with love, hope, and happiness. We couldn’t do this without YOU — thank you for making a difference in these pets’ lives! Let’s keep the love going! 🐶🐱❤️
