Northwoods, Inc. of Wisconsin, along with multiple agencies and advocates, was honored to represent A-Team Wisconsin at the Wisconsin State Capitol on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Our self-advocates articulated the critical importance of maintaining a comprehensive range of services for individuals with diverse abilities. We presented three key requests:
1. View the U.S. Committee on Education & Workforce Field Hearing: “Work, Dignity and Choice in Disability Employment”.

2. Oppose any initiatives that restrict work choices. We urge action against legislative or administrative efforts that limit our right to choose how and where we work.
1. Support laws that ensure the continuation of a comprehensive selection of work programs. Help secure Wisconsin legislation that offers training and employment options enriching the lives of individuals with diverse abilities.
We extend sincere appreciation to all Wisconsin legislators for their support of the joint resolution for Employment Choice First. A-Team Wisconsin, along with thousands of advocates and family members, remains committed to advancing service options and opportunities for people with diverse abilities across the state.
Northwoods, Inc. welcomed the opportunity to meet with Ethan Vandermause, Outreach Director for Wisconsin State Senator Sarah Keyeski. Mr. Vandermause listened attentively to our self-advocates and committed to sharing our Day for Choice Resource Folder and personal stories highlighting the essential nature of comprehensive employment services. He graciously accepted a “Champion for Choice” certificate on behalf of our Senator.
A huge shout out to A-Team Wisconsin for facilitating the 2026 Day for Choice at our beautiful State Capitol.
