This video explains the outside rein… I had one of my trainers tell me today… they realized that the neck rein IS the outside rein… yep! Shoulder control. Control the shoulder and your neck rein will become an outside rein!

THE 1️⃣-2️⃣-3️⃣ RULE
It's Foaling Season and there is the 1-2-3-Rule.
1️⃣--Foal should stand within 1 hour
2️⃣--Foal should nurse within 2 hours
3️⃣--Mare should pass placenta within 3 hours
📌If any of these time frames are not met--Dr Thames needs to be contacted quickly. These 3 steps are essential for foal and mare health. A foal that's too weak to stand will have difficulties getting the essential colostrum needed for their immune system.
A retained placenta can cause severe infection, sepsis and can lead to laminitis.
📌Once your foal arrives schedule a visit within 12 -24 hours for exam and to have an IgG test performed to ensure that antibody levels are met and within a normal range. Foals should get a good physical, checking for any musculoskeletal deformities, naval hernias, soft palate problems, eye injuries during birth and making sure the lungs are fully functioning and no fluid was inhaled during birth. Many issues can be resolved if caught early.
