Life isn’t always fair and it certainly isn’t easy.
We lost a great dog, all too soon.
RIP Wyatt Dog Coppa - “Wyatt”
HRCH, MH, One Grand Pass
10/31/20 - 5/10/26
Beyond your incredible talent, you were a lovable personality. During the brief time spent together, you quickly grew on me. I enjoyed all your quirks, especially those big, floppy chocolate ears.
I know just how much you meant to Andrew and your absence will be felt for a long time.
Unfortunately, despite all the precautions we take through our consistent airing and feeding routines, Gastric Torsion isn’t fully preventable.
It’s the “silent killer” of dogs that will haunt my thoughts for the remainder of my career.
During surgery, the doctor told me if it weren’t for Wyatt’s immensely strong heart, he would have passed hours before. Despite a successful procedure, it was the prolonged lack of blood supply to his stomach and other organs which couldn’t be reversed.
He was truly a fighter with the heart of a wolf.
Andrew Coppaa I can’t thank you enough for your friendship and for trusting me with your boy. I truly enjoyed every moment we had together. He was an incredible dog to stand beside because you did a phenomenal job building him the right way.
As well as he was training, I have no doubt he would’ve passed this Spring Grand on a score of 2s just like last fall!
He will forever be a Grand Champion in my heart.
Godspeed Wyatt Dog.
