Congratulations to Loba who finished her last heartworm treatment injection today! We would like to take this opportunity to educate pet owners on the importance of heartworm testing and prevention. Prevalence of heartworm disease is significant throughout the US, but especially in the south. We want to express the importance of year round diligent heartworm prevention and regular testing, especially for those pets coming from high risk areas. It is always important to stay on top of testing and ensure that even for dogs with an initial negative test, if they come from high risk area, a second test 6 months later is strongly advised due to the tricky lifecycle of heartworms! 🦟❤️🐾🪱
