Education and teaching students is vital to the growth and future of Veterinary medicine.
Dr. Applegate has returned from a week in Iowa. He spends 2 weeks a year, along with fellow clinicians, educating the 4th year veterinary students at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He teaches students subjects and skills to include avian, reptile, and small mammal handling, physical exams and surgery.

This past weekend, the NAEVS team attended the NJVMA Veterinary Education Conference in Atlantic City, NJ.

Dr.Applegate presented several lectures thru out Saturday educating fellow veterinarians about exotic animal medicine.

Beth (Technician), Amanda (Technician) and Kimberly (Practice Manager) did a fantastic job representing our hospital and promoting exotic animal health and veterinary care.

And our NAEVS ambassador: Everclear, the box turtle. He melted the hearts of all our visitors.

Highly pathologic avian influenza (H5N1), or bird flu, has been confirmed in wild birds in New Jersey within the past 30 days. The doctors and staff at NAEVS are monitoring the situation closely to ensure our patients are safe and well cared for.

To report sick or dead poultry, contact the NJ Department of Agriculture Division of Animal Health at 609-671-6400.

If you find sick or dead wild birds, do not handle them. Contact the NJ DEP Fish and Wildlife hotline at 1-877-927-6337.

We are seeking a reliable, professional, and motivated veterinary technician to fill a full-time position in our growing practice. A solid foundation of veterinary technical skills is required with preference to competencies in surgery and anesthesia; CVT (or equivalent) or 1+ years experience is preferred. Exotic experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate. We offer a competitive salary, 401K, health care plan (medical, dental, vision), and PTO (vacation, sick)
