It's National Rescue Dog Day!! 💙

Turns out they're correct when they say no ethically bred dogs end up in shelters, because there is no such thing as "ethical" breeders 🙂‍↔️. Buying from "ethical" breeders won't get us out of the hole we're in... And those who believe otherwise are buying into one of the biggest misconceptions going around (thank you 'big ethical breeding' 💁🏻‍♀️)

It is your choice to adopt or purchase from a breeder, depending on what fits your lifestyle. We're not arguing that, although you know our preferred method. But rather, this conversation focuses on the misinformation floating around, and the breeder's marketing schemes that target well meaning people.

Happy National Rescue Dog Day to all who celebrate 👏🏻.

I can't imagine my dogs not growing old with me, but I also can't imagine how hard it is to surrender your pets to the shelter when you lose your home or you can no longer care for them. But in the rescue world we see and hear it all 😓.

I remember talking to a neighbor a couple months ago and he saw me with the dogs are started telling me about how he got his chow chow. From a breeder that he found online in South Carolina. Purchased the puppy and flew all the way to Phoenix... I hear stories like this one day and turn around and see that same type of dog being given a 5 day deadline to live. If I were to say to him "oh hey there's a chow available to adopt about ten minutes away" I imagine his response would be "oh but I wanted a puppy to grow my family with"...or "I don't want an unexpected behavior to arise"... That's why it's hard to understand "ethical" breeding arguments when the source of it really has nothing to do with ethics and everything to do with personal preference and predicability.

Anyways! Swype to see some New Hope Only Dogs who are set to be euthanized (meaning you must apply to foster with a rescue) as well as two pups who are available for adoption at MCACC in Phoenix, AZ!

Please share 💙
