Squib has enjoyed his foster home vacation, but he’s ready for his forever home! He is now located at our Petco location on Power and Baseline. Hopefully this move will help get some more eyes on him from potential adopters. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hi to him and his neighbors, Zara and Sunflower! 😊

Happy Halloween week from Squib! 🎃 Did you know carrots are like candy to rabbits?

Okay, maybe not THAT bad, but they are full of sugar and should only be given in moderation as an occasional treat. The general recommendation is about a baby carrot size amount 1-2 times a week. Carrot tops, however, are very good for your bunny and can be fed more often! 🥕

Other foods that can be given to your bunny as a Halloween treat (pick one):

🍌 A small slice of banana
🫐 A couple of blueberries
🍎 1-2 small slices of apple
🫛 A fresh pod of sugar snap or snow peas
🫑 A small slice of bell pepper (any color)

Make sure to limit these foods as they are very high in sugars and starches. Dark, leafy greens can be an everyday snack for bunnies, but stick to ~1 cup per 2 lbs of body weight! 😊

What’s YOUR bunny’s favorite sweet treat? 👀

We got two more bunnies from our Mesa PetCo adopted out to loving homes today! Circe has been at the store for less than 2 weeks and Seymour just arrived a few days ago and we’re so glad the visibility this partnership gives our bunnies is helping them adopted so quickly 🩷 We will keep you all in the loop as to who will be next in search of a new home!

Circe’s (left) new owner came in today to speed date her neutered male with our buns and to our surprise, he got along amazingly well with all three of our females, making for a difficult decision as to who to bring home. She ultimately decided on Circe due to the connection she felt to her and her adorable and confident personality 🥰

Seymour’s new family fell in love with him while at the store and couldn’t resist taking home their very first bunny 🥳 They have already done some great research, obtained all the proper supplies, and asked lots of great questions! Not only are they head over heels for this sweet little guy, but he is also equally obsessed! During their meeting together in the pen, Seymour was all over his new bun mom and even happily spent some time snuggling in her lap on his accord ☺️

Sandy (now known as Esther), Fig Newton, and Darla (now known as Agnes) have already graduated to their official enclosure! Their bun moms spent all day today bonding them and within less than just 12 hours, they are handling all the space incredibly well. These three were clearly a match made in heaven and their moms have done an amazing job at bonding them together properly. Peep the comments for a few pictures of where they started just this morning 👀🤯 (as a page, we cannot post pictures and videos together).

We’re on TikTok! If you are too, why not check out our first post and give us a follow? To kick off, we wanted to highlight some cheaper and more appropriate alternatives to the rabbit “starter kits” commonly found in pet stores. More rabbit care education to come.

Let’s talk bunny enrichment ✨ featuring Squib! 😊

It is important that house rabbits have daily mental stimulation in different forms. And while there are many toys out there marketed for bunny enrichment, sometimes the best enrichment toys are the simplest (and cheapest)! Here are some of Squib’s favorites:

🍓 A toilet paper tube stuffed with hay and a small treat in the middle (for example, a piece of dried strawberry).

🧩 A wooden puzzle with pellets inside. Oxbow and Small Pet Select make some great options.

🥬 A snuffle mat is perfect for enrichment during feeding. Instead of mindlessly eating out of a bowl, the bunny gets to forage for their meal.

There are plenty of other awesome choices out there, but the most important thing is that the bunny gets a variety of enrichment every day! This will help keep the bunny from becoming bored and destructive.

What are some of YOUR bunny’s enrichment favorites? 👀

Darla and Stanley were adopted! 🥳

You may recognize Darla’s pawrents from a month ago when they adopted Sandy 🐰 During a casual visit to the store, they happened to fall in love with Darla and her playful and cheeky personality and decided she might make a perfect fit for a potential trio with Sandy and her husbun, Fig Newton 🩷

Stanley has been with the rescue for a year now to no fault of his own, as he is an absolute sweetheart. His new pawrent, who has cared for bunnies their entire life, met with many of our bunnies but instantly connected with Stanley and couldn’t resist taking him home 😌

This sweet gentleman is Squib!

He is confident, curious, and loves to snuggle up next to you and keep you company. He is currently being fostered by one of our new volunteers, but will be available for adoption soon 👀 You can find more daily Squib content on Instagram, .

If you’re interested in volunteering with us, fostering could be a great option for you! Fostering bunnies gives them opportunities to build trust around humans and destress in a comfortable home environment before they find their forever home. We provide all the necessary supplies. If you’re interested in helping out, please reach out to Lisa via text at 602-435-8792. 😊
