🦜 THANK YOU who helped with this Sunday's major cleanup!
This weekend our volunteers showed up and gave Valleywide Parrot Rescue everything they had — and it shows. Cages power washed and scrubbed, floors mopped, shelves reorganized, walls power scrubbed, every single corner refreshed. The rescue is officially as clean as it's been since the day we first moved in. 🧽✨
We have to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to every single person who came out: Maris, Melanie, Naomi, Nicole, Seidy, Alexis, Rachelle, Kevin, Rebecca, and Brondon — you are the reason this place sparkles today. 💛
You gave up your Sunday morning for our flock, and every bird here is better for it. We're so lucky to have each of you. ❤️
🙏Thank you to Shane, our new handyman for all the good work you put into the rescue! 🛠️ If anybody needs an excelent handyman, send us a DM and I'll send you his details privately.

🦜💚 PETE IS HOME... except his name was never Pete! 💚🦜
Some kind people spotted a little green conure outside the ice rink in Peoria. He flew right over to them like he'd known them forever 🥰 so they scooped him up and brought him to us.
We called him Pete, and he won over every single volunteer at the rescue. He is SO friendly, and we all fell head over heels for him 💚 But we knew a bird this sweet had a family out there missing him like crazy 💔
Then we found a lost post on PawBoost and learned his real name: HADES, a Mexican green conure, and his family had been searching for him 😭
Watch the moment Hades is reunited with his person 🏡🎉
Thank you to the amazing volunteers at valley wide and the wonderful people who brought him in. You're the reason this story has a happy ending 🙏

He couldn't walk. He wouldn't let anyone touch him. Now look at him. 🥹💛
When Good Boy came to us, he was beat up and bruised 💔 He had several broken bones that never healed right, and he couldn't walk at all.
So we gave him time ⏳ and patience, and a whole lot of love 💛
First came the head scratches 🥰 Then he started coming out on his own 🦜 Then he let us HOLD him 🙌 And now... he's WALKING! 🐢 Slowly. VERY slowly. A turtle would probably beat him in a race 😂 but he's doing it, and we couldn't be prouder.
And wait until you hear him jabbering away 🗣️💬 That's the sound of a bird who finally feels safe 🏡
Good Boy got his second chance because people like YOU showed up 💛
👉 FOLLOW us so you can keep cheering him on 🎉

One hectic day 🦜, seven Amazons were surrendered to us all at once from a single home in Prescott. We said yes — and we haven't stopped since. Amazons have kept pouring in ever since that day, one after another, each one needing somewhere safe to land. 😢

Right now we have 7 incredible Amazons waiting, and the truth is: these birds need homes badly. 💛 Meet Kayla 🗣️, Imax, KC, Duke, Gina 🌱, Good Boy, and Olive 👑 — smart, long-lived, deeply bonded birds who deserve so much more than a cage in a rescue. They need a real family. 🏡

🕊️💛 In Loving Memory of Dolly Parton (1946–2026) 💛🕊️
Dolly Parton gave more to this world than music. She gave money, time, and heart to causes most people never even knew about — and one of our favorite stories about her involves two macaws. 🦜🦜
Back when she had her ABC variety show, the production brought in a pair of macaws for a segment. Here's what most people don't know: macaws are NOT easy birds. They're huge, brilliant, and their beaks can do real damage in the wrong hands — we actually took in a rescue macaw whose previous owner lost part of a finger to him just a week before he came to us. 😳 These birds are not starter pets, and they read people fast.
And yet — those macaws were calm around Dolly. 🎶 Parrots are incredible at sensing energy. They pick up on fear, tension, anything "off." A macaw doesn't relax around just anybody. But Dolly walked in warm and steady, and they settled right in beside her. We like to think they knew exactly who she was. 💛
And honestly? It fits. Dolly wasn't just a friend to birds in a photo op. Her Dollywood theme park has run a bald eagle sanctuary for decades, helping release over 180 eagles back into the wild. 🦅 She spoke openly about protecting the Smoky Mountains she grew up in, saying we need to "pay more attention to how we're treating our world." Between the Imagination Library, disaster relief for her home state, and her love for wildlife and the land, her generosity never had limits. 🌎💛
Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the generosity, and for trusting our feathered friends enough to share your spotlight. 🕊️
🦜 A note from us: macaws require serious experience and commitment before bringing one home. If you're thinking about it, talk to a rescue like ours first.
💛 In Dolly's spirit of giving, consider giving too: every parrot that comes through our doors — like the macaw in this story — needs medical care, sometimes urgent and expensive. If her story moved you, help us keep showing up for birds who need it most. Every dollar goes straight to our parrot medical fund. 🦜🩺

🚨 FOUND COCKATIEL: 23rd Ave & Glendale (Phoenix, AZ) 🚨
A local public pool called us after this sweet lost cockatiel flew onto their property! Staff managed to enclose him in a storage room, and after a few tries, we caught him mid-air to safely bring him in (check out that money shot! 🦜💨).
📍 FOUND LOCATION: Near 23rd Avenue & Glendale Avenue in Phoenix, AZ.
🔒 SCAMMER PREVENTION: We are intentionally not sharing a clear picture of him. He has two very distinct physical features, and his true owner will easily be able to identify them.

"Quiet" doesn’t mean "mean"—sometimes it just means "I’m getting to know you." 🤫🦜
There’s a huge myth that if a bird is quiet, reserved, or hesitates to step up, they’re aloof or uninterested.

The reality? They’re just introverts! 🧠✨
Introverted birds need a little extra time, patience, and calm energy to feel safe. But the moment they know they can trust you, everything changes:

🗣️ They start talking your ear off
🥰 They lean in for endless head scritches
🏡 They treat you like their favorite flock member
The quietest birds often have the biggest hearts.
