Dream Riders of Kentucky is an equine-assisted therapy nonprofit helping individuals with disabilities grow confidence, independence, and strength through horses in a safe, supportive environment. Dream Riders of Kentucky is a non-profit organization that provides Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies to adults and children with special needs. Since 2003, we've been making dreams come true for

children and adults, who on a daily basis, face physical, cognitive and/or emotional challenges. Through our equine-assisted programming, muscles are strengthened, minds are expanded and friendships are formed for a lifetime! Come on in….at Dream Riders, the door is always open!!!

✨ Confidence Clips at Dream Riders! ✨

This week in classes, our riders took part in a new activity we’re calling Confidence Clips, and it quickly became one of our favorite moments in the arena.

Each rider wrote one thing they did well in class on a clothespin, and then wrote something another rider did well, too. These little messages of encouragement were clipped onto the horse’s side‑pull as a reminder that every stride is worth celebrating, and that we lift each other up here.

After class, we gathered all the clips and hung them in our viewing area on a beautiful paper chain made by Jody, one of our riders. Now everyone who walks through the barn can see the kindness, pride, and accomplishments shared by our riders this week. It’s a simple display, but it’s full of heart.

We love watching our riders grow, support one another, and shine.

A New Chapter for Some of Our Beloved Horses

With the addition of some new horses and several of our longtime herd members getting older, we are beginning to look ahead to retirement for some of our special horses.

These horses have given so much to Dream Riders and our riders over the years. When the time comes, we want to find them loving forever homes where they can enjoy a well-deserved retirement.

We’re putting out some feelers now! If you or someone you know might be interested in providing a retired Dream Riders horse with a loving home, please send us a private message.

This is simply to gauge interest as we plan for the future. Please feel free to share this post to help us find them their forever home!

Today was one of those days at the barn that reminds us why what we do is so special. ❤️🐴

For the past two years, our Office Manager, Beth, hasn’t been able to ride due to health challenges. But today, after recovering from a total knee replacement, Beth got back in the saddle.

Beth’s knowledge, experience, and passion for horses are such an incredible asset to Dream Riders. She has a heart for our horses and a deep understanding of how their work can help make each rider’s experience more meaningful and beneficial.

Today, she officially joined our schooling team in a different role; not standing on the ground, but in the saddle. And she had the absolute BEST partner for her first ride back: our sweet Indie. 🐴❤️

The smile on Beth’s face says everything. It’s a smile filled with joy, gratitude, accomplishment, and maybe just a little bit of “I’m finally back where I belong.” 🥰

We couldn’t be happier to see you back in the saddle, Beth! Welcome back! We’ve missed this side of you, and we know our horses and riders are going to benefit so much from having you back doing what you love.

Sometimes the sweetest victories happen one ride at a time. Today was Beth’s victory. And we were all lucky enough to witness it. ❤️🐴

💙 What a beautiful morning of connection and community! 💙

Yesterday, the Dream Riders of Kentucky outreach team had the privilege of spending the morning with the wonderful residents at Hillcrest. We’re so grateful for the warm welcome, smiles, conversations, and time shared together!

We love being able to take the Dream Riders mission beyond the barn and into our community. These moments remind us that connection, compassion, and a little time together can make a big difference. 🐴✨

A separate post for not only Indie, but a rider stepping out of their comfort zone. Sam had his first ride on Indie tonight and did phenomenal! Switching horses can be intimidating and sometimes difficult, but man did Sam shine on Indie tonight. His confidence soared and he put years of riding lessons to the test. We look forward to your relationship growing and can’t wait to see what you achieve together. Please join us in celebrating Sam and Indie!

🌤️ A Little Relief at the Barn! 🐴💙

We are SO thankful for a little break in the heat tonight and that beautiful breeze! It was the perfect evening to take one of our classes outside and enjoy some fresh air with our four-legged partners. 🐎💨

These are the little moments we don’t take for granted. Watching our riders enjoy time with their horses, surrounded by sunshine and a gentle breeze, is exactly what Dream Riders is all about. 💙

We are so incredibly grateful for people like Eric who give their time, talents, and hard work to support Dream Riders. Eric spent his day bush hogging our pastures, helping keep our property safe, beautiful, and ready for the horses and riders who call Dream Riders home. 🐴🌿

Eric, thank you for showing up, getting to work, and giving so generously of your time. Your dedication to Dream Riders means more than you know, and we are truly blessed to have you in our Dream Riders family!
