Straight on mounts have a unique set of challenges. Hair patterns, symmetry and balance being key for a successful recreation and lifelike appearance. As I continue this journey in taxidermy I’m blessed and humbled to be in the company and trained by some of the best in the world. Next week I will be continuing my ongoing training with some of the finest and talented taxidermist in New England.

In my ongoing Taxidermy journey I continue to train with some of the best in the world. A few weeks ago I attended a molding and casting class with Gary Weir and a handful of amazing and talented Master level taxidermist. The work completed was second to none. My shop is experimenting with different resins and colors in and attempt to recreate the most lifelike detail possible. These next couple of photos are a few of these trial runs.

Not often that I get a one eyed deer in the shop. This one’s kind of dear to me “no pun intended “ well maybe just a little. Not only did I mount it, I also helped track it and drag it with my two Sons last bow season. Way to go Justin on another slammer archery deer!
