🚨 TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR PENNSYLVANIA’S PET CREMATION BILL.
CBS News Pittsburgh/KDKA Investigates spoke with Humane Action Pennsylvania Executive Director Natalie Ahwesh about the future of HB 1750, the Companion Animal Cremation Consumer Protection Act. Currently, the bill is stalled in the Pennsylvania Senate Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure Committee.
HB 1750 passed the PA House unanimously, 199–0, and would finally establish basic standards, transparency and accountability for the pet cremation industry. But with only a handful of Senate session days remaining this year, we are quickly running out of time to get it across the finish line.
As Natalie told KDKA, the decision to move the bill out of committee is now in Sen. Pat Stefano’s hands.
📞 Please call Sen. Stefano TODAY at 717-787-7175 and ask him to bring HB 1750 up for a vote and move it out of the Senate Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure Committee.
📧 Then send his office a message through his website asking him to advance HB 1750 before the legislative session ends.
You can say: “Please move HB 1750 out of committee. Pennsylvania families deserve transparency and accountability when they entrust a beloved companion animal’s remains to a cremation provider. This bipartisan bill passed the House 199–0. Please give it a vote before time runs out.”
🐾 Grieving families have waited long enough. HB 1750 deserves a vote.
