Today’s the day to become your pet’s photographer!

Tips from our team: get on their level, use natural light, capture their personality rather than forced poses, and have treats ready for attention. The best photos happen when they're just being themselves. Share your favorite pet photo attempts!

Meet Nebula, a foster from ACCT!

This 1 year old tuxedo is the perfect boy! He is very social and won't hesitate to ask for attention. If you have been into the clinic recently, you've probably said hi to him! He will greet all your guests at the door with confidence, loud meows, and a seat on their lap. He would be a great companion to anyone who likes a talkative cuddle bug, and is good with kids!

If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out ACCTs adoption application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ACCT/Cat

Welcome to The Cat Doctor Team! - Dr Elizabeth Martin

Dr. Elizabeth Martin is a gentle, cat-savvy veterinarian who loves creating a calm and compassionate experience for both feline patients and their family. With a deep appreciation for the unique medical and behavioral needs of cats, Dr. Martin is proud to be part of The Cat Doctor’s dedicated team.

She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University and Utrecht University and has special interests in feline internal medicine, neurology, and low-stress handling. Dr. Martin believes that even the 'spiciest' feline deserves patience and understanding, and she works closely with clients to tailor care to each cat’s personality and health needs.

When she’s not at the clinic, Dr. Martin enjoys sketching, exploring Philly’s neighborhoods, and spoiling her own beloved cats at home.

Welcome to The Cat Doctor Team! Dr Katelyn Jones!

Dr. Jones joined The Cat Doctor in 2025 after moving to Philadelphia with her partner. She grew up on a dairy farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where her love for animals—and caring for them—first began.

She went on to earn her bachelor’s degrees in both Animal and Poultry Sciences and Dairy Science from Virginia Tech in 2016. She stayed in Blacksburg to complete her veterinary degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2020.

While she originally planned to work with farm animals, her interests shifted during vet school when she found herself drawn to the more hands-on, individualized nature of small animal care. Since then, she’s worked in a variety of small animal general practices in Maryland and Delaware, where she gained experience in everything from routine wellness visits to emergency care and surgery.

Over her first few years in practice, Dr. Jones realized she had a special connection with her feline patients and decided to focus exclusively on cats. She loves building trust with her patients through low-stress, fear-free techniques and enjoys helping cat owners better understand how to keep their pets healthy and happy at home. Her professional interests include internal medicine, surgery, and feline behavior and enrichment.

At home, Dr. Jones lives with her partner, two fluffy cats—Oliver and Sadie—and their beloved Pitbull mix, Delilah.

Emergency preparedness includes our pets! Keep pet carriers accessible near exits, include pets in evacuation plans, and consider pet alert stickers for windows.

For apartment dwellers: know which exits allow pets during emergencies.

Most importantly — if you're safely out, don't go back for pets. Contact emergency responders instead.

Today we celebrate the chaos, 3 AM zoomies, surprise pounces, and those moments when they finally fall asleep in impossible positions. Kittens remind us that life's too short not to play.

Happy Father's Day to all the pet dads who've mastered the art of one-handed coffee drinking while holding the cat!
To celebrate, we're sharing our favorite dad jokes: "What do you call a cold pet? A chili dog!" and "What did the cat say on Father's Day? I'm very fond of you!"
Share your best (worst) pet-related dad joke in the comments!
