🎆 The 4th of July is right around the corner, and now is the time to make a plan if your dog struggles with fireworks!

Every year, we see dogs become stressed, anxious, or even panic when the celebrations start. If your pup is sensitive to loud noises, don't wait until July 4th to prepare.

A few things that can help:
🐾 Talk to your veterinarian now about anti-anxiety medications or calming supplements so you have time to see what works best for your dog.
🐾 Create a safe space inside your home, such as an interior room, closet, or bathroom where outside noise is reduced.
🐾 Use white noise, fans, or calming music to help mask fireworks sounds.
🐾 Consider a ThunderShirt or other calming wrap if your dog responds well to gentle pressure.
🐾 Make sure collars, tags, and microchip information are up to date in case a frightened dog manages to escape.

If you'd rather not worry about your dog being home alone during the festivities, Bark Mountain will be here! 🎇

We will have overnight staff on-site throughout the holiday weekend to ensure every dog is safe and comfortable. We also have a plan to keep the facility as calm and quiet as possible with fans, music, white noise, and plenty of supervision.

Fireworks can be stressful, but a little preparation goes a long way. If you need a safe place for your pup to spend the holiday, be sure to reserve your boarding stay early—holiday spots fill quickly! ❤️🐾

Meet Sunny! ☀️

Sunny is one of our foster dogs through Cowboy Up Animal Rescue, and she is just as sweet as her name suggests. She's housebroken, deaf, almost finished with her heartworm treatment, and ready to start looking for her forever family.

She loves splashing in the pool, taking naps (seriously... the hardest sleeper you've ever met 😴), and exploring the world around her. She's curious about cats and likes to check them out, but she's never shown any aggression toward them.

Sunny has so much love to give and doesn't let being deaf slow her down one bit. She just needs someone willing to give her a chance.
We think whoever adopts Sunny is going to be incredibly lucky. 💙

We had such a great time being guests on a Goose podcast recently! 🎙️

Susan and I had the opportunity to share the story of how Bark Mountain came to be, what inspired us to jump into the pet care industry, and the journey of building this business from the ground up. From the early ideas and big dreams to the challenges and lessons along the way, it was so much fun reflecting on everything that brought us here.

Talking about dogs, enrichment, and creating a place where pets are loved like family never gets old. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our amazing clients, staff, and community who have helped make Bark Mountain what it is today.

Meet the people who help keep Bark Mountain running smoothly every single day — our Shift Leads, Aislin and Clark! 🐾💙

Aislin and Clark were our very first hires when Bark Mountain opened its doors, and we've had the privilege of watching them grow alongside us over the last year. From day one, they've poured their hearts into this place and into the dogs who call Bark Mountain their second home.

If you've ever wondered how they remember every dog's quirks, favorite friends, play style, or preferred nap spot, it's because they know these dogs like the back of their hands. More importantly, they love every single one of them as if they were their own.

One of the things that makes Bark Mountain special is consistency, and Aislin and Clark are a huge part of that. You'll find them here Monday through Friday, providing familiar faces, predictable routines, and lots of love for your pups. That consistency helps our dogs feel comfortable, confident, and excited to come back each day.

We couldn't imagine Bark Mountain without them, and we're so grateful for everything they do behind the scenes (and in front of the camera!) to make this such a special place for our dogs and their families. ❤️🐶

Looks like Murphy went to Space Camp today 🚀🐾

We honestly expected this rocket sprinkler to have a much shorter life expectancy. Somehow it's made it to Day 2 despite Murphy and her friends repeated quality-control inspections.

Believe it or not, this is enrichment! Novel objects, water play, and opportunities to explore new sights, sounds, and textures help build confidence and keep dogs mentally engaged. Murphy may be on a mission to defeat the rocket, but she's getting plenty of enrichment while she's at it. 💦🚀

We are beyond excited (and honestly a little speechless) to announce that Bark Mountain Pet Resort has been voted Best Pet Boarding Facility in Alabama! 🏆

When we opened our doors just over a year ago, we had a simple goal: create a place where dogs feel safe, loved, and excited to come back. Every playgroup, enrichment session, cuddle, training lesson, pool day, and bedtime tuck-in has been built around that mission.

This award belongs to our incredible Bark Rangers, trainers, groomers, and staff who pour their hearts into caring for your dogs every single day. Most importantly, it belongs to our amazing pet parents who trusted us with their furry family members and took the time to vote for us.
