A personal story:
When we brought Gracie home from the corgi rescue, she was 11 years old. Mary was having a hard time finding someone willing to take on an elderly dog. She'd been neglected, passed around, and was anxious and overweight. I'm a sucker for an underdog, if you'll pardon the pun. She was supposed to be a foster, "just for the night" (well, that's what I told my husband anyway), but she ended up a part of our family very quickly. Today we are celebrating her 16th birthday! Her weight is under control; she's still a little anxious, but she is far from neglected. We all love her so much and she is very happy to have her forever home, finally. Happy Birthday, Gracie! Thank you, Mary, for trusting us with this sweet pupper!
