Hi community! We’re running very low on dog treats at the shelter and could really use your help. 🐶💛

Our pups would love donations of:

• Soft chews (great for dogs with dental sensitivities)

• Jerky treats (because who doesn’t love jerky?)

• Xylitol-free peanut butter (safe for dogs!)

• Lean Treats (a special request from our Vet Team)

• Freeze-dried treats (a special request from the dogs 🐾)

• Canned cheese and peanut butter dog paste (truly one of the best inventions ever!)

Every donation helps make our shelter dogs a little happier while they wait for their forever homes. Thank you for supporting them!

Hello Community! Kitten season is here!! And though you may not see them on our adoption floor yet, we have many kittens in foster that are waiting to get big enough for adoption. Can you please help us restock our kitten supplies for this year?? We have linked our Kitten Season Wishlist - it includes our preferred brands and items that we use DAILY during kitten season.

Thank you so much for your support! We could not do the work we do without our community ❤

We are proud to recognize Joint Animal Services staff members, Sierra and Bekka, for attending and presenting on the Animal Cruelty Response Team Program at the National conference.

Their presentation highlighted the importance of collaboration, preparedness, and compassionate response efforts in protecting animals and supporting our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our experiences and learn alongside so many dedicated animal welfare professionals.

A special thank you to Best Friends Animal Society for providing the scholarship opportunity that made attendance possible. Your support helps strengthen partnerships, expand knowledge, and improve outcomes for animals everywhere.

Hey ladies! Finding a man who actually listens can be tricky… so we figured we’d help you out—meet Zazu! 🐶

He’s all ears, ready to listen, cuddle, and play fetch. 💛

Zazu is an 81-pound brindle-and-white sweetheart—goofy, affectionate, and full of personality. He loves being part of the action, may enjoy a dog buddy, and just wants to make you smile.

He can be a little shy at first, but with patience, his loving side shines. Come meet Zazu at JAS today!

Meet McBorkasaurus Rex 🐾

At just 3 years old, this black and white pittie sweetheart has already come a long way. When he first arrived, he was underweight and struggling but thanks to consistent care (and plenty of meals!), he’s now happily filling out. Safe to say… food is his love language. 🍽️

McBorkasaurus Rex lives for mealtime and will proudly parade around with his food bowl like it’s his greatest treasure- it’s equal parts hilarious and heart-melting. His big personality definitely matches his unforgettable name.

He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a moment and you’ll see his true self shine: sweet, gentle, and eager for connection. He’d do best as the only dog in the home, where he can feel secure and soak up all the love and attention he deserves.

Could this goofy, food loving dino-dog be your new best friend?

Adoption Fee: $110
Includes: spay/neuter, microchip, first vaccines (DAPP & Bordetella), deworming, and flea treatment.

Today we recognize Officer Northrup!

Officer Northrup moved to Washington ten years ago and has been with Joint Animal Services since 2021 and a Field Services Officer for four years. She says the best part of being an officer at Joint Animal Services has been getting to advocate for the animals needing the most help. She enjoys building genuine relationships within the community and providing humane education and resources to keep both people and pets safe. Outside of work, Officer Northrup enjoys spending her time on creative hobbies or getting out and exploring nature. We appreciate Officer Northrup for her integrity and resilience in work worth doing.

Here is Officer Northrup with "Ducky", available for adoption at JAS!

🐾 Special Visitor at LVSH Today! 🐾

We had a special four-legged guest stop by the Lacey Veterans Services Hub today, Former Child Star, and she was a big hit with our Veterans!

Not only did she bring plenty of smiles, but she is also looking for her forever home. If you or someone you know is considering adoption, Former Child Star might be the perfect fit.

She is currently available through Joint Animal Services. You can learn more about her and the adoption process here: https://jointanimalservices.org/available-pets/

Let’s help Former Child Star find the loving home she deserves! 🐶❤️
