Please join us in welcoming Dr. Marielle Aitken to the South Bay Veterinary Hospital Family as our newest associate veterinarian! 🐾 Dr. Aitken actually joined our team four years ago as an animal care provider while she was in the process of applying to and being accepted to veterinary school. We knew then she was going to be a truly wonderful addition to the veterinary medicine community and we were eager to support her journey. From sponsoring her white coat, to seeing her excel and hone her skills, to witnessing her first surgical procedure, we are PROUD and overjoyed that she choose South Bay to be her furever home. Welcome home, Dr. Aitken, we cannot wait to see the truly amazing things you will do and all the pet parents and furbabies you will serve in this great community!

Dr. Aitken has called Olympia and the Pacific Northwest home for most of her life. She earned both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees from Washington State University. Dr. Aitken is incredibly excited to be back at South Bay, where she spent time working as a veterinary assistant and as an animal care provider.

Several of her specific professional interests include surgery, preventative medicine, dermatology, and ultrasonography. Dr. Aitken is passionate about expanding and preserving the human-animal bond, and is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of pets and their families.

During her free time, Dr. Aitken enjoys tennis, tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her beloved (and slightly spoiled) dogs.
