That warm Florida weather has been in FULL FORCE which unfortunately means our pets are at a high risk of heat stroke. Make sure you know the signs and how to handle them! In 85 degree weather, dogs can overheat and develop a life-threatening heat stroke within 10-30 minutes.

A healthy body temperature is anywhere between 99 and 103 degrees. Heat exhaustion begins to occur at 104 degrees and anything over 104 degrees puts your dog at risk of a heat stroke and possibly death.

If you suspect your dog is having a heat stroke:
☀️ Bring your pet inside immediately. Give them an open space to lay down with plenty of air flow
💨 Place a fan nearby if you have one. Have your dog lay on a cool (not cold) towel
💧Offer a bowl of water to drink. You may also take a COOL washcloth and wipe their face and coat to expedite the cooling process. Never use ice or ice water!

📞 Call us and let us know you are on the way if your dog falls unconscious or doesn’t seem to be improving within minutes. Seconds can be the difference between life and death in this Florida heat!

If you are concerned, so are we! We always recommend bringing your pet in for an exam as a “better safe than sorry” approach. Don’t forget, we are open for walk-in visits from 10am-10pm daily!

Meet sweet baby Aria! She came to us for some foot pain that ended up being broken toes but thanks to Dr. Mulvey and Jasmine, Aria received some immediate pain management that allowed her care team to splint her leg (which she appreciated very much in her second photo)

She received her well-deserved pretty princess pink bandage wrap to match the royalty treatment her mom gives her at home and is on the mend! 👑

We all need a little emotional support at times! These big beautiful girls here are Lucy aka Bug (on the left) and her sister, Nala (on the right). Lucy was treated for a pesky ear infection and Nala was simply attending for good vibes 😎

They kept themselves busy during their visit by snuggling their care team and wrestling with each other in the exam room. After a quick ear cytology for Lucy and some ear medications to take home, these rowdy girls were sent off for their next adventure!

We understand that some animals are most comfortable with their companions by their side and you are more than welcome to bring them along if you’d like. We have plenty of room to spread out, treats to go around and because we keep our patients and their owners together for the entire duration of their visit, everyone wins here!

We are open from 10am-10pm every day of the week for walk-in urgent veterinary care. No appointments needed.

This is our new and very awesome friend, Amy! She (with the help of her equally awesome mother) brought her cat, Squirrel Flight, to us to treat a wound on his back leg.

With the help from his care team Bryana and Dr. Garcia, Squirrel Flight was sutured up, given an injectable antibiotic, and sent home to rest up! When he returned for his recheck several days later, Amy and Squirrel’s nurse, Shay, quickly became besties over their mutual love for cats (see Amy’s super sweet glasses? 😻) and Amy gifted us with this Metropolitan-worthy piece of art.

We love being able to meet and treat your pets but we especially love when we get to meet the little people who love your pets even more than we do! This definitely made our day.

🐈‍⬛ This is Mo and his amazing nurse, Mina!

Mo came to us when he began to have some seizure activity after receiving his topical flea medications. Fortunately he was a pure gentleman for his bath and even talked to his care team through the whole process (do you see the outstretched paw as if to say, “Thank you Mina!”)

Mo is doing much better now thanks to his amazing care team and some TLC from his family!

We are open for walk-in urgent veterinary care from 10am-10pm daily. We can tackle issues like GI upset, seasonal allergies, ear infections, wounds, and more! No appointments needed 🐾
